Nghe An accompanies fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea

On the afternoon of October 9, in Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of the province to organize the program "Accompanying fishermen to stay at sea in 2023".

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial Women's Union; Phan Thanh Doai - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, representatives of the Provincial Veterans' Association, the Provincial Labor Federation, the Provincial Border Guard Command, leaders of Quynh Luu district and many fishermen in the area.

In recent years, Nghe An Farmers' Association has organized the program "Accompanying fishermen to stay at sea" with many practical activities to promptly encourage, cheer, support and equip fishermen during their fishing at sea. Thereby, spreading the spirit of patriotism, arousing national pride and especially helping fishermen to confidently go out to sea, stay at sea, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland.

At the program, fishermen and ship owners listened to Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station officers propagate legal regulations on seas and islands, protection of aquatic resources, seafood, prevention of illegal and unreported fishing... helping fishermen understand and raise awareness of law compliance when participating in fishing at sea.

In addition, people were also trained by staff of the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control, equipped with knowledge and skills in first aid and how to prevent accidents at sea.

Speaking at the program, comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association hoped that fishermen would always be aware of complying with regulations in seafood exploitation, and at the same time, each member would be a propagandist, encouraging everyone to absolutely comply with the law, join hands and unite for sustainable development, carry out seafood exploitation with declaration, in accordance with the law and regulations to remove the "yellow card" of Europe, and increase the value of Vietnamese seafood.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, socio-political organizations of the province and Quynh Luu district presented 50 gifts to 50 fishermen of Quynh Long and Son Hai communes, including national flags, raincoats and life jackets.

The Provincial Farmers' Association presented 5 gifts to 5 disadvantaged fishing households, each worth 1 million VND; Quynh Luu district presented 10 gifts to 10 disadvantaged fishing households in Son Hai and Quynh Long communes, each worth 500,000 VND.
