Da Nang Tourism Festival 2024: Smart Connection

The event aims to promote the application of smart technology, innovative business management style in the tourism industry, creating opportunities for organizations and businesses to connect, promote brands and introduce products. This is also an event marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Da Nang Tourism Association (2004-2024).

In the context of the fluctuating tourism market, to maintain its attractiveness and growth, Da Nang city.

Da Nang needs to improve the experience for tourists and develop appropriate strategies. Da Nang Tourism Festival 2024 is an important opportunity for domestic and foreign tourism businesses to share experiences, seek cooperation opportunities and together build a sustainable development future for the city's tourism industry.

Within the framework of the program, many important events will take place: The 4th Congress of the Da Nang City Tourism Association, term 2024-2029; Workshop on Smart Tourism; Reception of Famtrip delegations from within and outside the country; Large-scale business connection space.

The event was attended by more than 300 buyers from many countries such as Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan (China) and more than 600 domestic tourism businesses with 80 exhibition booths.

Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang City Tourism Association, said: The Da Nang Tourism Festival providing tourism products and services is one of the efforts to build Da Nang into a center for information, exchange and sharing of updated knowledge and trends in the tourism and service industry.

In addition, the event creates an opportunity for international buyers to meet with local tourism product and service suppliers. Many domestic and foreign partners return to the event every year, with new information as well as comments and assessments for Da Nang city.

“This is a good opportunity for the city to listen to customers’ opinions about their expectations and needs, especially to understand the “bottlenecks” and concerns in domestic and international tourism and service operations. Thereby, contributing to building Da Nang into an increasingly friendly destination for tourists and an ideal city for investment and exploitation by domestic and foreign tourism and service businesses,” said Mr. Cao Tri Dung.

According to the latest report of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of the year, the total number of visitors is estimated at 8.67 million, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2023, equal to 163% of the same period in 2019.

Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach more than 3.17 million, up 30%, equal to 134% over the same period in 2019; Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel in the first 9 months of 2024 is estimated to reach more than 26 trillion VND, up 26%, equal to 135% over the same period in 2019; of which, revenue from accommodation and travel is estimated to reach more than 13 trillion VND, up 37%, equal to 152% over the same period in 2019.

Regarding the structure of international visitors, compared to 2019, the proportion of visitors from Korea, China, Thailand, and Japan all decreased, especially the Korean market decreased by 8.5% and China decreased by 13.6%. Offsetting this decrease was the growth of some new markets: Taiwan (China) increased by 8.1%, India increased by 4.2%, Australia increased by 1.1%, Russia increased by 1.4%...
