Entering the new year 2025 in a spirit of urgency, from the beginning of the year, the agricultural sector has promoted the implementation of breakthroughs and key tasks, focusing on the task of restructuring the agricultural sector to adapt to climate change; mobilizing and making the best use of all resources, taking advantage of central support to invest in infrastructure serving production. Continuing to monitor and accompany enterprises in implementing high-tech agricultural projects (CNC) that have been granted investment certificates and promoting new investments. Organizing the appraisal of dossiers for recognition of CNC agricultural areas and enterprises applying CCN according to regulations. This year, the sector strives to sustainably convert 500 hectares of ineffective rice land to high-value, water-saving crops. Drawing on experience in implementing conversion work in previous crops, in the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop, in addition to maintaining large fields for concentrated production, the industry focuses on consolidating and developing production chains to consume agricultural products in converted areas for farmers.

Comrade Dang Kim Cuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the department has developed a plan to convert crop structure; implemented policies to encourage enterprises to invest in agriculture to attract enterprises to become the central nucleus linking with farmers' cooperative organizations in production in concentrated production areas, contributing to effectively restructuring the agricultural sector. The area of concentrated crop structure conversion in reservoir basins applies new models and objects with advantages, with room for growth, and high added value such as grapes, apples, green asparagus... Adjust, supplement and effectively organize the implementation of the planning of CNC agricultural production areas associated with the project to develop production in the irrigation area of the Tan My irrigation system to expand concentrated planting areas and policies to attract investment in developing CNC agriculture. Investigate and review the area of special fruit trees, especially grapes and apples, to expand the area, prepare documents to request the issuance of growing area codes and related procedures as a basis for export; at the same time, attract businesses to invest in applying CNC in grape and apple production for export.
To carry out the task of developing aquaculture into a strategic economic sector of the industry, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has proposed solutions to effectively implement Plan No. 4054/KH-UBND dated September 28, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the National Program on Aquaculture Development for the period 2021-2030; implementing the Project on developing CNC marine aquaculture in deep water areas. Focus on effectively organizing the Project on developing Ninh Thuan into a center for high-quality shrimp breeds of the whole country and developing marine fish breeds to serve the National Marine Aquaculture Development Program; developing aquaculture at sea associated with tourism development, in which priority is given to deep-sea aquaculture technology. Effectively manage the shrimp seed production areas of Nhon Hai, An Hai and Son Hai. Develop offshore seafood exploitation to become a modern, responsible fishery associated with protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

As a locality with advantages to promote the development of aquatic seed production and marine farming, Ninh Thuan currently has a number of successful enterprises with the aquaculture model using HDPE plastic cages. The trend of offshore marine farming is of interest to many enterprises, opening up new prospects for marine farming in 2025 and the following years. The province sets a target of striving for a total marine farming area of 1,395 hectares by 2030, with marine farming output reaching 5,000 tons. To achieve the target, the agricultural sector implements marine farming solutions in the direction of applying modern technology and advanced production processes to raise aquatic products with high economic value, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural production. Developing marine farming is associated with reorganizing production, building value chains for each product and product group to increase product value, meeting market requirements.
With the spirit of proactiveness, innovation, creativity, and correct identification of key tasks and solutions to focus on directing and implementing them, the agricultural sector is expected to make a strong breakthrough in 2025.
