In terms of markets, Asia leads with 42% market share, followed by America (22.5%) and Europe (16.6%). The US, China and Japan are the three largest markets, contributing to the steady growth of NLTS exports. Vietnam's agricultural exports are following the trend of increasing value and reducing volume. Typically:
Coffee : Exported 509.5 thousand tons (-12.9%), but the value increased by 49.5%, reaching 2.88 billion USD. The average export price of coffee increased by 71.7%, reaching 5,656 USD/ton.
Cashew nuts : Volume decreased by 19.3%, but value increased by 4.3%, reaching 841.1 million USD, thanks to an average price increase of 29.1%.
Pepper : Exports decreased by 16.7%, but value increased by 37.3%, reaching 323.6 million USD.
Rubber : Volume decreased by 4.4%, but value increased by 26.1%, reaching 765.8 million USD.
These figures show that the policy of improving product quality is bringing positive results, helping Vietnam's agricultural sector increase export value.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien commented that Vietnam is still facing challenges from fluctuations in international trade and tax policies of major countries. However, thanks to proactively developing response plans and cooperating with international partners, Vietnam's agricultural sector can completely achieve the export turnover target of 64-65 billion USD in 2025, aiming for the milestone of 70 billion USD in the following years.
To achieve the set goals, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development identifies a number of key solutions as follows:
Promote digital transformation : apply technology in production and traceability to meet the increasingly stringent requirements of the international market.
Strengthening deep processing : Encourage investment in processing technology to increase product value and reduce dependence on raw exports.
Market expansion : Continue to negotiate, sign trade agreements and remove barriers to penetrate deeper into new markets.
Sustainable development : Implement green, sustainable standards as required by the European and North American markets, while promoting organic production models.
With the right strategies and support from the Government, businesses and people, Vietnam's agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is facing a great opportunity to maintain growth momentum and improve its position in the international market.
