Russia launched a massive attack; Ukraine fired 80 types of bullets into Russian soil?

Several local officials in Ukraine said this morning, September 15, that in the previous 24 hours, Russian forces carried out attacks targeting at least 10 provinces, killing one child and injuring eight people, according to The Kyiv Independent news site.

The provinces attacked include Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv and Sumy.

A grain warehouse was destroyed in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia province in an attack believed to have been carried out by Russia.

In it, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuryi Ihnat said that Russian forces launched 17 Shahed suicide drones (UAVs) towards Khmelnytskyi province to destroy Ukrainian bombers.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that all of those UAVs were shot down while approaching Khmelnytskyi province from different directions.

Ukraine claims to have retaken a village near Bakhmut

The Ukrainian military General Staff announced on September 15 that it had retaken the devastated village of Andriivka south of Bakhmut, a city that fell to Russian forces in May after months of fierce fighting, according to Reuters.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian army confirmed that its troops held their positions in the village of Andriivka, while Russian forces suffered significant casualties and lost equipment.

The Ukrainian military also announced that its forces had "partially succeeded" near the village of Klishchiivka, also south of Bakhmut.

"The capture and retention of Andriivka is the path to a breakthrough on the right flank of Bakhmut and the key to the success of the entire subsequent offensive," the 3rd Assault Brigade, which took part in the counterattack to retake Andriivka, stressed.

There is currently no information about Russia's reaction to the above statement from Ukraine.

Ukraine fired more than 80 types of bullets into Russian soil?

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of Russia's Belgorod region wrote on the Telegram messaging app today, September 15, that Ukrainian forces fired more than 80 different types of ammunition into the province, according to TASS news agency.

“In the Shebekinsky district, five mortar shells were fired at the village of Krasnoye, four at the village of Ziborovka, three each at the villages of Terezovka and Sereda,” Gladkov wrote. He also wrote that several other villages in the region were also shelled by Ukrainian forces.

There is currently no information about Ukraine's reaction to Mr. Gladkov's accusations.

Russian warship destroys Ukrainian drone boat?

The Russian Defense Ministry said today, September 15, that a Russian warship destroyed a Ukrainian navy drone boat in the Black Sea, according to Reuters.

The Russian Defense Ministry made the statement a day after Ukraine said it had attacked two Russian patrol boats and destroyed a sophisticated air defense system west of the Crimean peninsula.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the attack on the patrol boat Sergei Kotov, but insisted the attack involving five unmanned boats had been repelled.

The new attack comes after Kyiv said on September 13 that Ukrainian forces had severely damaged a Russian submarine and landing ship under repair in a missile attack on a shipyard in the Crimean port of Sevastopol, home to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

Russia develops multi-purpose nuclear submarine

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said today at a meeting at the headquarters of the country's Pacific Fleet that Moscow is constantly upgrading its navy to be able to protect the country's interests, according to TASS news agency.

"Currently, we are actively working on the design of multi-purpose nuclear submarines, robotic systems and unmanned underwater vehicles," Shoigu emphasized.

Minister Shoigu also noted that the Russian Navy protects national interests, maintains safety of shipping and conducts operations in different regions of the world.
