New features in party member development in Thai Nguyen

Recently, on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), the Party Committees of Phu Binh, Luong Phu and Diem Thuy high schools under Phu Binh District Party Committee held a Party membership admission ceremony for 10 outstanding students and union members.

Moved to stand in the ranks of the Party, new Party member Duong Thi Phuong Mai, a student of class 12A5, Phu Binh High School, shared: "This is an important turning point in my life and also a great motivation for me to continue to strive, mature, establish myself, make a career, and actively contribute to the development of society, to dedicate myself to the Fatherland, and to the ideals of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam."

In mid-May 2024, the Party Committee of Viet Bac High School, under the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee, which raises and teaches nearly three thousand ethnic minority students from Quang Binh and above, organized the admission of 23 party members who are students. The ceremony was solemnly held, with the participation of the highest leaders of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, the Ethnic Committee, and the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee, demonstrating the great concern of the province, creating a wide spread, contributing to educating ideals, encouraging the spirit of training and striving of generations of students in schools.

Teacher Luc Thuy Hang, Party Secretary and Principal of Viet Bac High School for Ethnic Minorities, said: “The admission of outstanding student members to the Party has created motivation to study, strive, and raise political awareness among all students of the school. Following this admission of Party members, the school's Party Committee has sent and created conditions for 19 outstanding students to attend a training course on Party awareness.”

Thai Nguyen City has many high schools, universities and colleges. In May 2024, almost every school held a ceremony to admit party members who are students, creating a new feature and a major change in the work of developing the Party.

Comrade Duong Van Luong, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee, affirmed: “In recent years, the City Party Committee has focused on strengthening the discovery, training, and admission of Party members who are students. This group has many advantages such as: health, youth, dynamism, enthusiasm, knowledge, political awareness, and responsibility to society. Therefore, when becoming a Party member, it will contribute to bringing a new source of energy to the Party, and at the same time, have the prospect of long-term service and dedication, meeting the ideal goals of the Party and the nation.”

Recently, the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee has organized many classes to foster awareness of the Party specifically for students with flexible and suitable time and organization methods; at the same time, it has organized the awarding of certificates of completion of the Party awareness class at very meaningful places such as the National Historical Relic Site - the memorial site of 60 martyrs of the 915th Youth Volunteer Company, Team 91 Bac Thai, ATK Dinh Hoa... to strengthen the awareness of striving to join the Party. The City Party Committee has directed the City Party Committee's Organizing Committee to actively and urgently complete the background check for Party admission for students. Therefore, in May alone, the Thai Nguyen City Party Committee admitted nearly 50 student Party members.

The Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 07-CT/TU, dated June 9, 2021 - a specialized directive on leading the work of party member management and party member admission, in which it identified admitting students, university students, and workers into the Party as one of the key tasks of Party development work.

According to comrade Le Quang Trung, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, in order to effectively implement Directive 07, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee and Party committees at all levels, and school leaders have had many synchronous solutions such as organizing many thematic conferences, issuing tasks and solutions on source creation, fostering awareness of the Party to select outstanding union members and introduce them to the Party organization for consideration and admission. Thanks to that, the province has soon achieved positive results. From 2021 to 2023, the Provincial Party Committee admitted 7,766 new party members, of which 820 were students (accounting for more than 10% of the total number of newly admitted party members); in May 2024 alone, more than 80 new party members were admitted.
