The magical Mid-Autumn Festival of Tuyen Quang

On the evening of September 23, Tuyen Quang province coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many localities at home and abroad to organize the 2023 Tuyen Thanh Festival with the theme "Sparkling colors of Tuyen Thanh Festival night".

President Vo Van Thuong attended the Thanh Tuyen Festival. Also attending were Politburo member, Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; leaders of ministries, branches and localities in the country; international guests; and the participation of thousands of people and children of Tuyen Quang and provinces and cities nationwide.

The highlight of this year's Festival is the Tuyen Quang Night Festival, organized on a national scale with the participation of 7 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Binh Thuan and localities with cooperative and friendly relations with Tuyen Quang, such as Xiengkhuang province (Laos) and Anseong city, Gyeonggi province (South Korea).

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son said that Tuyen Quang people have created giant and colorful Mid-Autumn lanterns to create a very unique and impressive Mid-Autumn Festival to give to children and teenagers, as well as to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists and friends. Thanh Tuyen Festival, a festival of the people, has truly become a unique and distinctive tourism product of Tuyen Quang province.

Mentioning the importance of educating future generations, Politburo member and Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh shared that President Ho Chi Minh always paid deep attention to children with a strong belief in the intelligence and qualities of future generations. He always emphasized the responsibility and important role of the Party, the State, fathers, mothers and the whole society in the cause of caring for and educating children.

Thanh Tuyen Festival "causes nostalgia" throughout the country because of the uniqueness of the lanterns and lanterns with "super-huge" sizes. After nearly 20 years of being created, maintained and developed by the people, Thanh Tuyen Festival has been recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records 3 times: Mid-Autumn Festival with the largest number of lantern models in Vietnam, the largest Mid-Autumn Festival tray in Vietnam and the largest pair of lanterns in Vietnam.

This year's festival has about 60 giant Mid-Autumn lantern models participating in the performance.

Therefore, the Festival promises to promote a good image to domestic and international tourists about the land, people and cultural heritage values ​​of Tuyen Quang, especially the unique historical and cultural values ​​of the revolutionary homeland "Capital of the liberated zone" - "Capital of resistance"; continue to build the Tuyen Quang Festival into a unique and characteristic tourism product of the province and with an international brand.

Sharing her thoughts on the important ceremony of her province, Ms. Nhuyen Thi Bich - a resident of Tuyen Quang province said that she felt extremely proud and happy to see tourists from near and far coming to attend the Mid-Autumn Festival of her province. Although it is a mountainous area, Tuyen Quang has made great efforts to successfully organize the largest Mid-Autumn Festival in the country. The models inspired by fairy tales and history will be a source of inspiration for the young generation to continue studying and striving to serve the Fatherland.

With the theme "Sparkling colors of Thanh Tuyen Festival Night", Thanh Tuyen Festival Night has an art program consisting of 4 chapters with a vibrant atmosphere, grand scale, with the participation of artists, in which children are the main participants. Chapter I has the theme "Fairytale Mid-Autumn Festival" with stage effects, sound, light and a large lantern along with art performances by children.

Chapter II has the theme "Brilliant Mid-Autumn Festival," introducing the unique features of Mid-Autumn Festival in all regions of the country; concluding with the Mid-Autumn Festival customs of the people of the Viet Bac region.

Chapter III has the theme "Mid-Autumn Dream" which expresses the dreams of children in the future, calling on children across the country to light up lanterns to watch the moon with their families and send their wishes.

Chapter IV with the theme "Tuyen Quang City Festival Night" introduces the process of birth and development of Tuyen Quang City Festival from 2004 to present with models made by the people themselves, creating a trend throughout Tuyen Quang city and then becoming a special festival every Mid-Autumn Festival of Tuyen Quang province.

The final part of the program is a parade of hundreds of giant, colorful Mid-Autumn lantern models, creatively simulating animals in daily life as well as characters in historical stories, folk tales, fairy tales, fables... selected from competitions organized by Tuyen Quang city and districts in the province.
