The rain has stopped, but the Thang Long Boulevard service road is still submerged in water.

At 1 p.m. on September 28, although the rain had gradually subsided, the Thang Long Boulevard access road was still relatively flooded. On the car lane, traffic jams stretched for several kilometers from the Trung Hoa intersection to the Bao Son Paradise area.

This is the stretch of road that gets flooded every time Hanoi has a long, heavy rain. Many vehicles come from far away and there are few lanes to avoid, so they have to go straight, passing through many sections of water.

Some people got off their motorbikes and walked here, while others tried to cross the flooded section and their motorbikes died.

At a branch road leading to the overpass, a bus and a truck stalled in the deepest section of water (over 60cm).

This bus was traveling from Hoa Binh to Hanoi. “I had to ask passengers to get off the bus and call a motorbike taxi to go home. I don’t know what to do now,” the driver said.

Mr. Vinh, the truck driver, kept calling the company for help because the truck had been stuck there for an hour.

Although this truck has a high chassis, the water only reached half the wheels, but in some parts it was deeply submerged, and the strong waves caused the engine to malfunction.

Another driver stopped at the beginning of the flooded area to direct traffic and warn people not to enter this road.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (September 28), in the North and from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms; in the Northern Delta region, the provinces of Yen Bai, Son La, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa will have heavy to very heavy rain.

Rainfall from 7pm on September 27 to 8am this morning was over 180mm in some places such as: Ban Hang Doi (Hoa Binh) 194.4mm, Huong Son (Hanoi) 277.6mm, Ba Sao (Ha Nam) 205.2mm,...

In Hanoi alone, since early this morning, heavy rain has poured down, lasting until rush hour, causing severe flooding and traffic jams on all roads.
