Food in Hue is delicious, everyone knows.
But most of all, what urges me to want to go to Hue is the "even and widespread" deliciousness across dozens of choices, enough for me to list in detail what I will eat in Hue for breakfast, lunch, afternoon, evening, and even late at night.
Breakfast and lunch must eat beef noodle soup
This famous dish would be an easy choice for my breakfast, lunch, and dinner during a day in Hue.
Having only been to Hue a few times, I don't think I'm qualified enough to "judge" which restaurant is the best, so feel free to ask the locals which restaurant is good.

Or search for “delicious beef noodle soup in Hue”, Google will surely lead you to the most famous beef noodle soup restaurants such as My Tam Beef Noodle Soup, Me Keo, Ba Tuyet… delicious enough for you to experience the taste of beef noodle soup in Hue.
A note for those who eat beef noodle soup in Hue for the first time, is that the beef noodle soup here is less sweet than in Saigon, the broth has a fragrant aroma of shrimp paste and lemongrass, the noodles served with it are also small, not big like in Saigon.
In the afternoon and evening, don't forget Han Thuyen noodle street.
Another dish that cannot be missed is Hue noodle soup, and if you want to eat noodle soup in Hue, you cannot miss Han Thuyen street, where there are more than a dozen noodle soup shops next to each other on a quiet small street.

From early afternoon, the women were busy setting up their stalls to sell until late at night. Baskets of noodles, fish cakes, quail eggs, pork skin, and pots of boiling, fragrant broth were gradually displayed attractively.
A bowl of noodle soup here costs around 20,000 VND, with noodles, broth, various types of sausages, ribs... depending on the restaurant, and depending on the customer's order, served with quail eggs and crispy fried pork skin served separately.

Sip a spoonful of hot, thick noodle soup, the soft, chewy noodles and the aroma of sausage, meat, chili paste, onions... your stomach (whether hungry or not) will immediately feel soothed, especially in the chilly weather in Hue.
At night, late at night is Truong Tien bread
The most famous bakery in Hue is probably Truong Tien O Tho Bread. Whenever you pass by, you will always see a long line of people waiting to buy.
Entering the restaurant, diners are immediately impressed by the attractive "toppings" such as pork belly, pate, cold cuts, spring rolls, sausages, and even the typical Hue banh loc filling.
The ladies quickly cut the bread, stuffed it with fillings and vegetables, and heated it over a charcoal stove until it was hot and crispy before serving it to the customers.

The bread at the shop is also small, you can finish it in a few bites, but it's just enough to satisfy your cravings for more.
Open from 4pm to 4am, this hot, crispy loaf of bread with the fragrant smell of braised pork is enough to make anyone like me, who has to eat at least one loaf every time I visit Hue, nostalgic.
Various types of bread fillings are displayed attractively.
All day long, eating mussel rice and mussel noodles
In Hue there are many places that sell delicious and surprisingly cheap mussel rice and mussel noodles.
One of the easiest places for tourists to find is the row of restaurants near Cau Dap Da. The bowl of mussel rice I ate here last year cost only 12,000 VND.

Tapioca pearls for dessert
A popular dessert choice when visiting Hue is sweet soup, especially tapioca pudding with coconut filling and roasted pork filling. Everyone probably knows about tapioca pudding with coconut filling, but roasted pork filling is certainly unfamiliar to many people.
One afternoon, I stopped by a sweet soup shop on Nguyen Sinh Cung street to try this dish.
Nearly 20 colorful pots of sweet soup of various kinds were displayed on the table right at the entrance. The pot of sweet soup with tapioca flour and roasted pork filling had small, bite-sized balls of dough, with roasted pork filling peeking out from the inside. Next to it was a pot of tapioca flour and coconut filling, equally attractive.

Ordered a glass of roasted tapioca pudding, I ate it hesitantly, afraid that I wouldn’t be able to eat it. However, the salty-sweet taste of the roasted pork balls, combined with the chewy tapioca flour, along with the sweet syrup mixed with fragrant and crunchy peanuts, was surprisingly a perfect match.
The cup of sweet soup is also small and just right, enough for customers to finish it without feeling full. However, according to my personal taste, the sweet soup would be easier to eat if it was a little less sweet.
Must try salt coffee in Hue
Trust me, when you come to Hue, you must try salt coffee, a "specialty" that has only become popular in the last ten years in Hue and neighboring provinces and cities, and also had a period of "making waves" in Ho Chi Minh City.
The most famous restaurant in Hue is on Dang Thai Than Street. It is always crowded with both Westerners and Vietnamese, tourists and locals.

For me, the best cup of salted coffee is probably here. Each drop of filter coffee penetrates the cloud-like layer of cream, flows to the bottom of the cup and touches the velvety layer of condensed milk.
Unlike other salted cream coffees on the market, the saltiness in this coffee is in the coffee. Take a light sip to feel the rich aroma of the milk cream, mixed with the impressive saltiness of the coffee.
Gently stir all three layers of liquid, add 2-3 ice cubes, and the cup of coffee suddenly turns into a perfect drink that makes people want to come back again and again.
Another place to enjoy salt coffee that I also really like is the cafe next to Dai Nam Thai Y Vien.
Of course, the food in Hue is not limited to just that. If you have the opportunity to stay in Hue for many days, Hue cakes, banh khoai, bun mam, ca ro noodle soup, and many other delicious dishes,… are still there waiting for you to enjoy.
