On August 27, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, a leader of Hai Ly commune People's Committee, Hai Hau district (Nam Dinh province) said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing the death of a young man.
The victim's body was brought ashore by people.
The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. the same day, Mr. Pham Quang H. (23 years old, residing in hamlet 11, Hai Son commune, Hai Hau district) went swimming with his younger brother at the beach (in the area of Hai Ly commune, Hai Hau district).
About an hour later, seeing Mr. H. drifting away, showing signs of drowning, the younger brother shouted for help from the locals. Immediately afterwards, some people nearby swam out to save Mr. H. and brought him to shore, but Mr. H. had already died.
Authorities arrived shortly thereafter and carried out the required procedures. The victim's body has been handed over to his family for burial.
