During his lifetime, musician Xuan Phuong said that "Mong uoc ky niem xua" was one of the songs that impressed him the most in his composing career.
He confided: "When I composed this song, I was very young, about 23-24 years old. At that time, I had just graduated from school so I had a lot of emotions and memories.
All the lyrics and melodies in the song seemed to be available in my head, my only task was to write them down into a complete song."
Director Do Thanh Hai once shared in the Rubic 8 program many years ago that, while making the film with musician Xuan Phuong, both of them worked based on their memories of their school days and did it naturally.
"I'm very happy that when the song was broadcast with the movie, it was loved by the majority of audiences and young people," he once said.
