Recently, Nguyen Huu Thien Khang in Quynh Son village, Kim Song Truong commune (Can Loc district, Ha Tinh) surprised many people with his ability to memorize, speak and read bilingual Vietnamese and English.
Neighbors said that every time his grandparents took him around the house, Thien Khang could clearly read every word on the advertising signs. When meeting older people, he would greet them in both Vietnamese and English.

Baby Thien Khang is only 3 years old this year, the first son of Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh (38 years old) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (40 years old).
Ms. Huong works at a telecommunications corporation, while her husband works in a tourist area.
Ms. Huong recounted that when he was 1 year old, his parents bought an alphabet board for Thien Khang to learn and recognize each letter.
"We just taught our son to recognize and read the letters a, b, c. Due to our busy work schedule, we could not be with him. After a while, I discovered that he had been able to read 29 letters fluently without realizing it. At that time, my son was 1.5 years old," said Ms. Huong.

Thien Khang then surprised his parents and grandparents again when 3 months later he was able to read each word of the poem on the phone screen.
This surprised Ms. Huong and her family because the child had never been taught to read. Since then, with his voice not yet clear, Thien Khang has been able to read all the words in books and newspapers.
According to Ms. Huong, because of her husband's busy work, recently, she and her husband have sent their child to the grandparents to take care of.
To help him feel less bored, his parents bought him a tablet for him to watch cartoons and children's programs. However, the boy only likes to watch programs related to poetry, English or cooking.

In addition, to meet her child's needs and interests, Ms. Huong bought basic English vocabulary books for her child to learn. And in a short time, Khang was able to memorize almost all the vocabulary in the book.
At the age of 3, Khang could read Vietnamese fluently, pronounce and remember a lot of English vocabulary.
"With such abilities, we are both happy and worried. We do not pressure our child to study anymore but let him develop normally. We let him learn naturally, what he likes to read, and when he wants to study," the mother shared.
Showing his ability and talent early, however, the boy Thien Khang has a rather shy personality.
After this summer, Thien Khang will be sent to preschool by his family like his peers so that he can become more confident, practice his skills, and develop his inherent abilities.
