The North will be hot all next week

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on July 8, heat waves continued in many places in the North, concentrated in the delta region and Hoa Binh.

During this heat wave, the highest temperature in Hanoi and the provinces and cities of the Northern Delta is commonly 33-35 degrees Celsius. Since July 9, the heat has increased in intensity in the above areas, with many places recording temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological agency warned that the heat wave will last in the North until July 13, after which the region is likely to enter a new period of widespread thunderstorms at the weekend.

In the Central region, the heat wave is showing no signs of abating. The region will experience hot weather throughout the coming week, with many places experiencing intense heat of over 37 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the main weather in the Central Highlands and the South in the coming days will be thunderstorms, concentrated in the afternoon and evening. People should be on guard against heavy rains that could cause flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas.

Weather forecast for July 8 in regions across the country:

- Hanoi: Showers and thunderstorms at night, hot and sunny during the day. Lowest temperature 27-29 degrees Celsius, highest 34-36 degrees Celsius.

- Northwest: Scattered showers and thunderstorms at night, locally heavy rain; sunny during the day, hot in some places. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees Celsius; highest 32-35 degrees Celsius.

- Northeast: Thunderstorms at night in some places, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang have heavy to very heavy rain in some places. Sunny days, hot in some places. Lowest temperature 26-29 degrees Celsius; highest 32-35 degrees Celsius, some places over 35 degrees Celsius.

- From Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue: Showers and thunderstorms at night in some places. Hot sunny days, some places are very hot. Lowest temperature 25-28 degrees Celsius; highest 34-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

- From Da Nang to Binh Thuan: Showers and thunderstorms at night in some places; sunny during the day, hot in the north, some places with very hot weather. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees Celsius; highest 34-37 degrees Celsius, in the south 32-35 degrees Celsius.

- Central Highlands: Showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, scattered thunderstorms in the evening, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Lowest temperature 21-24 degrees Celsius; highest 29-32 degrees Celsius.

- Southern region: Showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, scattered thunderstorms in the evening, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees Celsius; highest 31-34 degrees Celsius.
