The activity also aims to arouse pride, inspire and motivate generations of Hanoi students to express their patriotism and love for the capital; encourage and motivate teachers and managers to continue to strive, innovate and be creative for the cause of education and training, building and developing the capital, the country and international integration.
The program "March of Capital Students" was organized for the first time by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, attracting nearly 3,000 people from 47 units representing 30 districts, towns, and a number of international schools. Along with that, the program also had the participation of the Military - General Staff Ceremonial Group, the People's Public Security Ceremonial Group, students of Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian ethnic groups and students from countries around the world studying in Hanoi, artists and actors of the Capital... These are colorful flowers to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024).
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong shared: “The program is an opportunity for students to exchange and learn with international friends and teachers, helping them develop comprehensively; at the same time, it arouses the aspiration to develop the country and national pride for generations of students in the capital - the future owners, the important force, joining hands for the development of the thousand-year-old city of culture, the heroic capital; the city for peace, the creative city recognized by UNESCO and towards the learning city in the network of global cities...”.
Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, UNESCO Representative in Vietnam, expressed his joy and emotion at being present at the event, especially at the time of the 5th anniversary of Hanoi becoming Vietnam's first member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
“As students march today in the peaceful heart of Hanoi, I hope they will feel proud and cherish the heritage of their ancestors and their fellow citizens, from all ages and backgrounds. Hold your heads high, share your stories and achievements with international friends about peace, global citizenship, creativity and, of course, education,” said UNESCO Representative in Vietnam Jonathan Wallace Baker.
The trumpets, dances, drum beats, songs, and voices of the students of the capital brought to the program many attractive performances, elaborately staged with diverse colors and high artistic quality. Each performance conveyed the students' love and pride for their beautiful homeland and country, demonstrating their artistic talent nurtured at their beloved school - where they study and practice every day.
The parade "March of Capital Students" includes 38 groups: the Red Flag team - carrying the National Flag; the General Staff's Army's ceremonial group; the Ministry of Public Security's ceremonial group; 30 secondary school student groups from 30 districts, towns and cities; a group of 70 female students from Chu Van An High School; a group of ethnic minority students; a group of secondary and high school students from some international schools; a circus group; a puppetry group...
The parade is meant to recreate the development journey of the capital's education and training sector, while honoring the efforts and contributions of generations of teachers and students over the past 70 years.
As one of 70 female students from Chu Van An High School participating in the parade, Dang Quynh Phuong, class 11D2, proudly shared: "I am very happy to participate in the program and have had about a month to practice with my friends. We consider this an interesting experience and also to express our gratitude to the teachers on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Education and Training sector as well as the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day".
