Bright pink cherry blossoms on the Dong Van stone plateau

HA GIANG - The pink color of cherry blossoms adorns the landscape of Dong Van stone plateau in late winter, attracting many tourists to take photos.

When mentioning Ha Giang, many tourists immediately remember the majestic mountains and forests with famous landmarks such as Ma Pi Leng Pass and Tu San Gorge. From winter to spring, Ha Giang is also dressed in the romantic pink color of cherry blossom season.

From the end of December 2023, cherry blossom trees on the Dong Van stone plateau began to bloom.

During four years of living and working in tourism in Ha Giang, Nguyen Sy Duc, from Bac Ninh, has been able to admire the cherry blossoms blooming in many villages on the Dong Van stone plateau. He took the cherry blossom photos from the end of December 2023 to January 8, 2024.

The bright pink flowers in the sunlight, growing next to the ancient yin-yang houses, are a typical image of Ha Giang. Visitors can find this scene when coming to Then Pa village, Lung Cu commune (photo) or Vuong family palace (Meo King's palace) in Sa Phin commune, also in Dong Van district, said Mr. Duc.

Tourists can also easily see the image of bright pink cherry blossom trees when driving on the roads in Dong Van town, Ma Le commune (photo), Lung Cu commune. Most of the cherry blossom trees here grow and bloom naturally.

The most attractive place in Dong Van district these days is Lung Cu Border Guard Station. About 10 cherry blossom trees have bloomed. The bright pink flowers under the sun attract many tourists to check in and take photos.

The rows of cherry blossom trees along the road to Lung Cu kindergarten have also bloomed.

The scene of children running and playing carefree under the cherry blossom trees makes "the picture of the northernmost part of the country become peaceful and familiar," said Mr. Duc.

Ha Giang cherry blossoms have five petals, light pink in color, and grow in clusters on branches. The tree only blooms when all its leaves are gone, and when the flowers are almost gone, green buds appear again.

For Ha Giang cherry blossoms, the colder the weather, the more beautiful the flowers are, the pink color is brighter and deeper. On sunny days, under the blue, cloudless sky, the pink flower canopies stand out even more.

The cherry blossom season usually begins around January and is most beautiful in the second and third weeks after blooming. In addition to the above locations, visitors can visit villages in the Dong Van stone plateau such as Thai Phun Tung, Ma Le, Lung Cu, Pho Cao, Pho Bang, Pho La, Sung La to see the flowers in bloom.
