Although Hanoi is the capital, its agricultural production scale is always among the top in the country. The total value of agricultural production has increased by 2% or more over the past many years. The quality of Hanoi's agricultural products has been increasingly improved, gradually affirming its position in the world market, with an export value of up to 1.5 billion USD/year.

Not only has a large agricultural production scale, Hanoi is also known as the "land of a hundred crafts". Hanoi's craft village products are considered to be very diverse, rich and unique. Currently, 327 craft villages and traditional craft villages have been recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee, bringing in an average annual revenue of more than 24,000 billion VND.

In addition to output and quantity, the quality of agricultural products and craft village products is an issue of special concern to the Hanoi People's Committee, in which the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program is considered the most accurate standard and measure. Implementing this program of the Prime Minister, up to now, the whole city has had 2,711 products evaluated and classified as 3-star OCOP or higher, surpassing any other province or city in the country.

To promote agricultural and rural economic development, especially exploiting the value of craft villages, every year, the Hanoi People's Committee directs the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion to organize many fairs and weeks to promote and introduce agricultural products, craft village products and OCOP products. The attention of Hanoi is a great motivation for entities to promote production and business.

In fact, in recent years, the frequency of organizing trade fairs and weeks to promote trade is quite high. However, the effectiveness of trade promotion is still a question. Many trade fairs and weeks, especially those organized by district-level People's Committees, are quite small in scale. Inconsistent locations, or limitations in product diversity and abundance, or low communication capacity have limited the effectiveness of trade promotion activities at times and in some places...

In that context, the 3rd Hanoi Agricultural Products and Craft Village Festival in 2024 can be considered the city's next major effort to promote trade connections, promote trade, and expand output for agricultural products and craft villages; thereby creating motivation for organizations, enterprises, production and business entities to increase investment and boldly expand production. Promoting trade promotion activities for agricultural products and craft village products is very meaningful.

This becomes especially important when Hanoi - the capital of a thousand years of culture, is the heart of the whole country, the top destination, representing the image of Vietnam in the eyes of tourists and international friends every time they set foot in the capital.

Along with the goal of promoting agricultural and craft village development, from the success of the previous two organizations, the 3rd Hanoi Agricultural Products and Craft Village Festival in 2024 is expected to introduce and promote the culture, tourism and achievements in agriculture and rural areas of the Capital; at the same time, contributing to building the brand and image of a dynamically developing Capital with high competitiveness domestically, regionally and internationally.
