A recently filed patent by Samsung has revealed the future of a foldable handheld gaming device similar to the Z Flip, which has made the technology world extremely excited.
Samsung is known for making displays for popular handheld gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch, but recent reports suggest the company is planning to produce its own branded device.
According to images recently shared by 91mobiles, this Samsung gaming console may have a folding screen similar to the Z Flip phone line.
Information appearing on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO said that Samsung has filed a patent describing a gaming console model with a clamshell folding design similar to the Galaxy Z Flip6.
With this design, the Korean manufacturer's future game console will allow users to easily carry the device on the go without having to carry a separate bag like current game consoles.
The description suggests that the top screen of the game console may use Samsung's Ultra Thin Glass, which is found on foldable phones. The manufacturer may also equip a protective film on top to help limit damage to the screen due to frequent folding and folding and enhance the effect of displaying images on the screen.
The images depicted in the application also show integrated gaming controls, such as circular joysticks or d-pads on either side, and additional buttons integrated into the bottom of the device.
While it’s unclear whether this design will ever materialize, it does suggest that Samsung is thinking about entering the handheld gaming market, an industry that isn’t exactly its forte. However, given its experience with foldable technology, it’s likely that this design will make it to market in the future.
This invention is also expected to help Samsung create a new fever in the technology world when it is sold.
