Provincial Cooperative Alliance: Celebrating 30 years of the establishment of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance

On the morning of October 18, the Provincial Cooperative Union organized the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Cooperative Union (October 29, 1993 - October 29, 2023) and displayed and introduced OCOP products, key products of cooperatives and cooperative unions in Thai Binh province.

Leaders of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance read a speech celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance.

After 30 years of establishment and development, the Provincial Cooperative Union has promoted its representative role in the field of collective economy, truly being a reliable support for cooperatives and member enterprises to develop; well performing its tasks as the standing agency of the Steering Committee for the development of collective economy; effectively participating in the implementation of national target programs; well performing its representative function, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members. Up to now, the province has 461 cooperatives, people's credit funds (PCFs), 1 cooperative union with over 465,000 members. Cooperatives and PCFs have developed widely in districts and cities. The Provincial Cooperative Union has attracted 440 members, including 333 cooperatives, 85 PCFs and 22 enterprises.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Development of the Market Economy acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the Provincial Cooperative Union over the past 30 years. At the same time, he emphasized that in the coming time, the Provincial Cooperative Union and its member units will focus on disseminating policies and guidelines on the market economy, especially Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2022 of the 5th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the market economy in the new period; Law on Cooperatives No. 17/2023/QH15; The Action Program of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to implement Resolution No. 20 aims to develop a dynamic, effective and sustainable collective economy, becoming the main form of organization in agricultural and handicraft production, truly an important component in the economy with cooperation and association models on the basis of respecting the nature, values and principles of the collective economy; attracting more and more farmers, households, individuals and organizations to participate; contributing to improving the income and quality of life of members and households, realizing social progress and equity, promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development. In addition, he proposed that the Provincial Cooperative Union develop a collective economy with many diverse forms of cooperative economic organizations; in which focusing on quality, ensuring harmony in all sectors, fields and localities; have preferential policies for collective economic organizations in the agricultural sector, linking production and business activities with product value chains, applying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; prioritize the development of collective economic organizations associated with the development of green economy, circular economy, and knowledge economy. Strengthen the linkage between enterprises and cooperatives, cooperative unions, and people's credit funds to improve the efficiency of production, business, and services of members.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance hoped that the Thai Binh Provincial Cooperative Alliance would be the core to advise and propose to local Party committees and authorities on the development of collective economy, contributing to the construction and development of the economy and society. Continue to help cooperatives build a close relationship between enterprises and cooperatives in production and consumption of products. Improve product quality according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP standards, organic products; apply high-tech processes in production according to circular economy, green production. Actively transform digitally; improve productivity, product quality, promote preliminary processing, product processing, expand added value, increase the contribution rate to the province's GRDP.
