Vietnam Circus Federation celebrates 69th anniversary

(Dan Tri) - At the 69th Anniversary of the Vietnam Circus Federation, generations of veteran artists, who laid the foundation for Vietnamese circus art, had a warm and friendly gathering.

On January 16, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Circus Federation held a ceremony to celebrate its 69th anniversary (January 16, 1956 - January 16, 2025).

Sharing at the event, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang - Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation - said that after 69 years of inheriting, developing and integrating to become the leading bird of the Vietnamese Circus industry, the artists have overcome many difficulties and challenges to maintain their passion for the profession.

In addition, the economic transition from a subsidized economy to a market economy, autonomy in career activities, price fluctuations, inflation, natural disasters, epidemics in recent years... have brought many difficulties to the country's art scene in general and circus art in particular.

But with a strong will, the artists, officials and workers of the Vietnam Circus Federation have united, made efforts and determined to help the Federation overcome all difficulties to affirm its position and create a solid foothold in the hearts of art-loving audiences.

"Audiences not only in the country but also around the world have warmly welcomed Vietnamese circus arts, considering them as flowers of friendship, of the distillation of the quintessence to reach the pinnacle of circus arts.

Thanks to its outstanding efforts, the Vietnam Circus Federation has been honored to receive many noble awards such as: First Class Independence Medal, First, Second, Third Class Labor Medal, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister... The Federation has 8 artists awarded the title of People's Artist and 35 Meritorious Artists...", Mr. Thang said.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Circus Federation inaugurated a spacious and modern Performing Arts Center, meeting the standards of a multi-purpose art theater, on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hanoi).

People's Artist Tong Toan Thang said that the new center is a square stage with a floor area of ​​140 square meters, a capacity of 300 seats, equipped with a large LED screen and modern sound and lighting equipment.

"This stage is designed to accommodate all types of performing arts. The center is not only a circus performance venue but also a place to create high-quality comprehensive art products," People's Artist Tong Toan Thang shared.

According to People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, this stage not only has its own circus-branded programs but also has art programs of various genres such as: Symphony, opera, ballet, reformed opera, cheo, tuong... combined with circus and aiming to build unique art shows such as Pho show, Banh mi show ...

"The Federation will cooperate with many theaters and performance organizations to create a professional art space so that the audience can feel like they are in the forest with the roars of tigers and leopards, the chirping of birds right next to them, or the murmuring sound of ocean waves...", People's Artist Tong Toan Thang revealed.

The new Performing Arts Center also has a traditional room to help audiences learn about the history of the circus industry; there is space for artists and circus officials to come and interact, share, exchange and discuss current circus issues.

The Vietnam Circus Federation also coordinates with units and businesses to create a service ecosystem to introduce culture, art, and regional products to serve tourism.
