The Vietnamese women's futsal team is expected to face difficulties when facing the host team Myanmar in the opening match of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship qualifiers on January 15. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team is highly rated and has defeated Myanmar in the Southeast Asian tournament not long ago, but the opponent has just appointed a new head coach so it promises to be unpredictable. However, the Vietnamese girls played very well, showing high confidence from the beginning of the match and won a resounding 5-1 victory over host Myanmar.

A smooth start in the 2025 Asian women's futsal qualifying round has created good psychological momentum for the Vietnamese women's futsal team heading into the pivotal match of the second round of Group D, against Macau - the opponent considered the weakest in Group D. In the opening match a few days ago, Macau lost with a very heavy score of 0-18 to the Taiwanese women's futsal team. The goal that coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang set before the tournament was to advance to the 2025 Asian women's futsal finals with the top spot in Group D. Therefore, there is no reason for the Vietnamese women's futsal team not to aim to defeat Macau. There were many bright spots in the opening match of the Vietnamese women's futsal team, in which K'Thua and Nguyen Phuong Anh were the two strikers who left a strong impression, when they both scored two goals. In addition, experienced player Tran Thi Thuy Trang also played a very important role in the playing style of the Vietnamese women's futsal team. The midfielder of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club is both the spiritual leader and the leader of the whole team.
The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship Qualifiers have four groups. The first and second-placed teams in each group, along with the third-placed team with the best record, will qualify for the finals. Currently, Taiwan is in first place (3 points, goal difference +18), Vietnam is in second place (3 points, goal difference +4), Myanmar is in third place (0 points, goal difference -4), and Macau is in last place (0 points, goal difference -18). Therefore, if they continue to win against Macau, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will have one foot in the finals. In case Taiwan wins against Myanmar in the later match of the same day (at 5:30 p.m. today, January 17), the Vietnamese women's futsal team will qualify for the finals one round early.
