Implementing the Plan for Applying Scientific and Technical Advances in the Production of a Number of Agricultural Models, in the 2021-2025 period, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district has directed the application of science and technology to the process of producing safe vegetables according to VietGAP standards in Thach Giam town with a scale of 6 hectares. The model generates an income of 125 million VND/ha. In Phong village alone, there are about 2 hectares of safe vegetables according to VietGAP standards in Pieng Lung area. The whole village has 185 households, of which 54 households are in the cooperative group producing clean vegetables and fruits. Photo: GH

In the last days of the year, households in the Clean Vegetable and Fruit Cooperative in Phong village are busy taking care of, weeding, and cultivating vegetables, ready to supply the market for the New Year and then the Lunar New Year. People in Phong village started growing clean vegetables in 2011. Initially, the model received support from the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee in coordination with the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries (Vinh University). Households participating in the project were instructed on planting and care techniques and supported with vegetable varieties. Up to now, although the support has ended, the model is still developing well, bringing people a significant source of income (an average of 8-10 million VND/vegetable crop). Photo: GH-QA

According to Mr. Vi Van Hoang - Head of the Clean Vegetable Production Cooperative in Phong village (the man wearing a hat): For a long time, vegetables here have been known and favored because all stages of growing and caring for vegetables are done by hand, without using stimulants, pesticides, herbicides... Besides tubers and fruits such as cabbage, kohlrabi, cucumber... people also put vegetables such as mustard greens, lettuce, coriander, onions... into production to serve the needs of consumers, especially during Tet.
