Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024 achieved many record numbers, from the number of participating artists, artisans, and creators to the number of visitors.
On the evening of November 17, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the Architecture Magazine and the UNESCO Office in Hanoi to close the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024.
Taking place from November 9, with the theme of Creative Crossroads, the Festival is held on the streets: Ly Thai To - Le Thanh Tong and Bac Co - Trang Tien slope (Hoan Kiem district). This is a space with famous architectural heritages of Hanoi such as: Hanoi Children's Palace, Government Guest House (Bac Bo Phu), Opera House, National Museum of History, University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University, former General University).
The closing night was exciting, promising that the following Festival seasons will be even more impressive. |
During the 9 days of the festival, 110 activities were held, in 12 typical cultural industry fields such as architecture, fine arts, performance, cinema, advertising...
Highlights include creative community parades, iconic works, creative space installations, exhibitions and displays, performing arts activities, experiences, and international and domestic seminars and conferences.
Thereby, the creative spirit is spread throughout architectural spaces, cultural heritage spaces, creative spaces, craft streets, traditional craft villages on all streets, throughout districts, towns and cities of the Capital.
The sight of packed audiences at performances is a typical image of this year's Festival season. |
The festival is considered an interesting and colorful creative "feast" showing the talent of many generations of people in the capital.
The activities are organized as a dialogue between existing works, connecting creative ideas to community memories, aiming to promote cultural values in the development of the creative industry.
The opening program with the theme “Crossroads” has made an impressive opening for the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024. The ceremony recreated “Long Van Khanh Hoi” and “Pho Cho Parade”, on a grand scale, blending traditional and modern arts, bringing a unique artistic experience, receiving the attention, response and encouragement of a large audience and people of the Capital.
Art activities are held in open spaces, making the audience feel close and interact with the artists. |
Three iconic works: Pavillion “Innocent Corridor”, “Stream”, “Dragon and Snake in the Clouds” instead of standing alone like previous festival seasons, this year are arranged in interactive positions, creating a dialogue with architectural heritage.
The two grand exhibitions “Indochinese Sensation” at the University of Natural Sciences (General University) and “Hanoi Children’s Palace - Nostalgia for the Future” affirmed the unlimited creativity of artists and architects with innovative thinking, unique arrangements, but still ensuring traditional values, harmony with the landscape space and displayed artifacts.
Children can freely explore and experience creative games for free. |
Seminars and workshops bring new insights into creative activities in the capital such as: Seminar “Creating images of Hanoi in cinema of all periods”; Seminar “Tradition from the perspective of Contemporary Architecture”; Seminar: “Building models and cultural industrial products from intangible cultural heritage resources in Hanoi”...
Through that, it suggests systematic perspectives of cultural, historical, artistic, architectural researchers... contributing to creating a new intellectual community.
The artists brought exciting and attractive performances. |
The biggest highlight of this year's Festival is the participation of the community, with more than 500 units, more than 1,000 creators, including many talented young artists who have become famous both at home and abroad.
In addition, the disabled community and vulnerable groups in society have actively contributed as professional creators. The festival has attracted nearly 300 young volunteers to support the organization, reception and guidance of visitors.

After 9 days of organization, the Festival has achieved unexpected success, leaving an impression and receiving great support and resonance from the people of the Capital and tourists.
More than 300,000 visitors came to participate and experience at the main points of the Festival. People not only came to visit and experience but also interacted and joined in the activities and events.
In addition, businesses and residents in Hoan Kiem district have shown the spirit of "hosts", proactively supporting residents and tourists during their visits.
This year's festival has created conditions for travel agencies to pilot the sale of available "Creative Tours", recording thousands of online payments every day.
Creative experts also experimented with leading “curator tours”, “architect tours”, and “artist tours” to help maximize information access for audiences.
