On July 17, according to the reporter of Giao thong Newspaper, at the construction site of Nhon Trach bridge and the access road of component project 1A of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, engineers, workers, and machines are working hurriedly.

At Nhon Trach bridge, both Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City banks reaching the middle of the river, workers are focusing on launching the girders.
Up to now, contractors have coordinated to install 84 girders, many bridge piers are seamlessly connected together.
Mr. Dinh Trong Thanh (Construction Joint Stock Company 525, the construction unit) said that currently, workers are divided into many shifts to work continuously to speed up the items.
The main axes in the middle of the river have also been cantilevered, and box girders from the two main pillars have begun to be cast extending in two directions.
Up to now, Nhon Trach bridge has reached 80% of output, 5 months ahead of schedule. Nhon Trach bridge package is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025 (old plan is September 2025).

While the bridge package is ahead of schedule, the approach road package at both ends of the bridge is 7% behind the contract.
The reason is that the site clearance work on the Dong Nai bank is prolonged and the relocation of technical infrastructure on the Ho Chi Minh City bank is slow.
However, as of July, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Vice Chairman of Nhon Trach District People's Committee, said that enough land had been allocated to ensure construction. As for the Ho Chi Minh City shore, functional units were also ready to relocate the remaining transformer station.
On the road leading to Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, workers have been working on various tasks such as cleaning, organic stripping, compacting, digging, and leveling the ground in many sections.
Some locations are making access roads, treating weak ground, digging and filling sand, grading crushed stone, asphalt concrete and building sewers.
However, when the site was handed over, there was a lack of sand for the roadbed. The sand source for filling was about 240,000m3, while the Mekong Delta region had many projects being implemented at the same time, so sand material was increasingly scarce. This would affect the progress of Package 1A in general.

Regarding the lack of sand for the access road package, according to the My Thuan Project Management Board, through a survey, in reality, Dong Nai currently has no sand mines for filling.
At first, the contractor had to import sand from other places to serve the construction. However, because sand imported from other places is expensive, it costs a lot of money.
Faced with the above difficulties, the My Thuan Project Management Board also proposed that the Department of Construction Investment Management advise the Ministry of Transport to consult with localities and the inter-ministerial working group to consider and support the contractor in completing procedures for exploration, exploitation of sand mines and mobilizing sand to the construction site.

It is known that the Component 1A project, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, phase 1 has a total length of more than 8km, of which the section passing through Dong Nai is 6.3km long. The total investment is more than 6,900 billion VND.
The project consists of two packages, of which package CW1 - construction of Nhon Trach bridge is 2.6km long; the approach road (package CW2) is 5.6km long. As of mid-July, the entire project component 1A has achieved progress of about more than 60%.
