(NLDO) - The Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province visited, gave lucky money, and encouraged farmers to increase production and achieve many successes in the new year.
On February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, inspected the agricultural production situation of the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop in the province's rice granaries, including Trieu Phong and Hai Lang districts.
According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Tri province, the entire province has completed the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring rice crop with an estimated area of over 25,500 hectares (over 100% of the plan), 2,000 hectares of corn, 1,000 hectares of peanuts, 4,500 hectares of cassava and more than 2,000 hectares of various vegetables. Rice and crops are growing well, with no natural disasters or epidemics occurring.

Mr. Ha Sy Dong suggested that the agricultural sector coordinate with localities to direct specialized units and increase staff to support, guide and encourage farmers to speed up the planting of upland crop areas according to the seasonal schedule, and promptly care for and prevent pests and diseases that harm rice plants.
Currently, most of the rice and crop areas in Quang Tri province are growing well, without natural disasters or epidemics.
Recognizing and praising the sectors and localities at all levels, as well as the proactiveness of farmers on the first day of the new year, the Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province expressed hope that in 2025, the agricultural sector will continue to have a bumper and successful crop.
On the occasion of the New Year, Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong visited, wished a happy new year, and gave lucky money to encourage farmers to achieve many successes in the new year, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
Up to now, in Quang Tri province, there are over 5,000 hectares of rice using drones to spray herbicides and plant care products. In the coming time, we will continue to apply drones to care for and prevent pests on rice and other crops; nearly 1,000 hectares of rice are linked with businesses in the production and consumption of organic rice, VietGap, rice seeds, etc.
