Spreading the beautiful lifestyle of Huong Son youth

Established in December 2020, the "Youth Solidarity - For the Community" club in Huong Son district (Ha Tinh) is a gathering place for enthusiastic young people who have a desire to contribute and want to participate in social activities. Thereby, orienting and spreading the good lifestyle of Huong Son youth.

In the green volunteer shirts of the union members, the youth of the club “Youth Solidarity - For the Community” have been present in many rural areas of Huong Son district to carry out meaningful tasks for the community. With the spirit of “one for all”, the club has gradually built a beautiful lifestyle for today’s youth.

Talking about the reason for the establishment of the Club, Mr. Mai Phi Vu (born in 1993) - Club Chairman said: “In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out strongly, as Secretary of the Son Kim 1 Commune Youth Union (Huong Son), I wanted to have an organization to be able to build and implement activities to help the community. This idea received the support of the Standing Committee of the Huong Son District Youth Union, the help of the local government and the Club "Youth Solidarity - For the Community" was established".

The club currently has 38 members, including young people from non-religious and religious backgrounds, and ethnic minority youth in Son Kim 1, Son Kim 2, Son Tay communes, and Tay Son town, managed by Huong Son District Youth Union and Son Kim 1 Commune Youth Union. The club's activities are aimed at social security, environmental protection, new rural construction, and skill development for youth. Funding sources for activities are mobilized from social sources.

Caring for and supporting the elderly and the disabled is one of the active activities of the "Youth Solidarity - For the Community" Club.

True to its name, the “Youth Solidarity - For the Community” Club has connected enthusiastic, community-oriented youth. After 3 years of operation, the Club has done many meaningful tasks to help society.

Ms. Tran Thi Lai (50 years old, Kim Cuong 1 village, Son Kim 1 commune) shared: "My husband passed away early, my family's circumstances were difficult, my health was poor, I was fortunate to have members of the Club regularly visit, encourage, support, and help my family members develop the economy. Thanks to that, my family's life gradually stabilized. Seeing the meaning of the Club's activities, I encouraged my two daughters to participate, contributing to support other difficult circumstances."

Many difficult circumstances in the border communes of Huong Son district have been helped by the "Youth Solidarity - For the Community" Club.

Mrs. Lai is one of many disadvantaged people in the area that the Club has supported and helped over the past 3 years. To raise funds, the Club regularly organizes many social activities such as selling goods, washing cars to raise funds, and accepting projects and tasks. To date, the Club has raised nearly 1 billion VND from fundraising activities, calling for support to help the poor and disadvantaged people in the area, support COVID-19 prevention and control, and disaster relief...

In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Club has organized calls for material support, helping the frontline against the epidemic through many activities such as helping to collect COVID-19 test samples, vaccinating, cooking, and cleaning for quarantine areas of the district and commune...

The "Youth Solidarity - For the Community" Club accompanies the new rural construction activities in Son Kim 1 commune and neighboring communes.

Along with activities to support the poor and disadvantaged in the area, the Club also accompanies the development of the locality. Ms. Phan Thi Quyen (born in 1993) - Vice President of the Club said: "After 3 years of operation, we have successfully supported the construction of 2 model new rural residential areas in Vung Tron and Kim Cuong 1 villages (Son Kim 1 commune); supported 4 model youth projects worth 45 million VND, accompanied more than 200 working days in villages in Son Kim 1 commune to renovate gardens, decorate houses... to help people".

In particular, the club is also a place for young people of all religions and ethnic minorities in the area to connect and share activities. The club regularly has many activities to create solidarity among young people such as exchanging with young people of parishes and churches in the area, giving gifts to the people and young Catholics on holidays such as Christmas, New Year, etc.

Mr. Mai Phi Vu said: “From the above activities, the relationship between Catholic and non-Catholic youth and ethnic minority youth in the area has become closer. We have built a united collective, strived together, and organized many meaningful activities to support the community. The 38 members of the club, although of different ages and religions, all share the same spirit of "wherever there is a need, there are youth, whatever is difficult, there are youth". From those efforts, recently, the "Youth Solidarity - For the Community" Club was recognized by the Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union as a typical youth club, team, group for the period 2021 - 2023".

It is known that in the coming time, the Club will recruit new members, expand, gather and unite young people, especially young people from religious areas and ethnic minority youth; continue to organize activities to build new rural areas, raise funds to give gifts to people in difficult circumstances in the area; organize free skill classes such as volleyball, English, dancing and singing... for children.

With its active and enthusiastic activities, the “Youth Solidarity - For the Community” Club has been making a positive impression, creating a great influence in the social community, contributing to affirming the role of youth in the local socio-economic development, ensuring social security in the border communes of Huong Son district. These positive effects are the driving force for the District Youth Union to organize, deploy and replicate many new models and clubs in other localities in the coming time.
