Lam Dong agreed to include 1 case and 2 matters related to violations in land management; slow-progressing construction and projects; and management and use of public assets in the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity to monitor and direct.

On March 27, Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, chaired the 10th meeting of the Steering Committee to discuss and give opinions on the results of anti-corruption, wastefulness and negativity work in the first quarter of 2025; tasks for the second quarter and report on the results of handling cases and incidents under the monitoring and direction of the Steering Committee.

According to the assessment, in the first quarter of 2025, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in Lam Dong has many positive and important changes.

The Steering Committee has proposed policies and measures for close, specific, timely leadership and direction with a focus and key points, especially shifting the focus from preventing and combating corruption to preventing and combating negativity and waste. The authorities are interested in speeding up the progress of resolving cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Steering Committee.

During the quarter, the prosecution agencies prosecuted and investigated 26 cases/41 defendants, concluded investigations of 5 cases/6 defendants, prosecuted 11 cases/17 defendants, and tried 1 case/1 defendant for corruption and negative behavior.

Inspection and examination committees at all levels focused on and urgently deployed inspections, supervisions, and audits; thereby, they concluded that 2 party organizations and 7 party members had committed violations to the extent that disciplinary action had to be taken, and transferred 1 case with signs of crime to the investigation agency.

According to Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc, the fight against corruption, waste and negativity in the current period is an important and continuous task, especially in the context of restructuring the apparatus and staff.

The Steering Committee and each member must promote their role and responsibility in leading and directing the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; the focus is on preventing and combating waste in accordance with the direction of the General Secretary.

In particular, focus on directing and guiding the extensive propaganda to educate the awareness of diligence, thrift, integrity, uprightness, impartiality in each cadre, party member and people to form a culture of integrity "not wanting to be corrupt", "not needing to be corrupt"; pay attention to preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity in the arrangement of the apparatus, appointment of cadres, declaration of assets and income, and settlement of complaints and denunciations related to cadres and party members to serve the Party Congresses at all levels; resolutely not allowing corrupt, negative cadres, those with political ideology, moral and lifestyle degradation to enter the Party Committees at all levels. At the same time, step up the prevention and combat of corruption, waste, and negativity in the management and use of land and public assets, and in the implementation of works and projects.

The case of "Violating regulations on land management" related to Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company was put under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee for preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity of Lam Dong province.

The Steering Committee unanimously agreed to include the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Waste and Negativity to monitor and direct the case of "Violation of regulations on land management" related to Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company, Bao Lam district; the review and consideration of handling 203 projects and works with 18,000 hectares of land that are behind schedule; the management and use of public assets for 113 houses, land, and villa funds in the province to prevent and combat corruption, waste and negativity.
