Kinhtedothi: This is the theme of the 5th Culture - Tourism Week and the 2nd Gong and Xoang Festival of Kon Tum Ethnic Minorities in 2024, which opened at 16/3 Square on the evening of December 11.
The event had more than 1,000 artisans and artists from districts and cities, international students from Laos and Cambodia and artists from An Giang province.
With the theme "Cultural Experience - Nature Discovery", in the series of activities of the event, many activities are meaningful to the work of preserving and promoting cultural values, economic development and tourism.
The event also held a conference to review the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Attapeu and Sekong provinces (Lao People's Democratic Republic) and Kon Tum province (Vietnam) for the period 2022-2027. This is an activity to strengthen the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Kon Tum province and Attapeu and Sekong provinces in particular.
Opening the 2024 Culture - Tourism Week, comrade Y Ngoc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: The 2024 Culture - Tourism Week of the province is organized to create a space for meeting and cultural exchange of artisans and artists; preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups; honor and promote the culture and people of Kon Tum, the cultural characteristics of the "Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space", and the tourism development potential of Kon Tum in the process of integration and development.
The Kon Tum Culture and Tourism Week in 2024 is expected to create many good impressions, attracting investment in developing culture and tourism in the locality. At the same time, it will further strengthen solidarity, contribute to building a comprehensively developed Vietnamese culture and people, and promote socio-economic development of ethnic groups in the province and the region.
On this occasion, Kon Tum province announced the Prime Minister's Decision approving the Master Plan for the construction of Mang Den Tourist Area until 2045 with the goal of making Mang Den one of the key tourism development centers of the country.
