Check traffic violations, detect drug users

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang The Hieu, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police - Order Team, Lang Giang District Police, said that during the peak period of inspection and handling of violations of vehicle drivers on the road violating regulations on alcohol and drug concentrations, the unit discovered and handled many cases.

Specifically, from October 31 to now, Lang Giang District Police have assigned 118 officers and soldiers to work on many routes. The functional forces have detected and recorded 178 violations, of which 85 were alcohol violations, and temporarily detained 104 vehicles.

Along with making a record of administrative violations at the location of the violation, the district police force will verify and clarify the violators. In case the violators are discovered to be cadres, party members, or civil servants, they will be notified to the agency, unit, or place of residence for strict handling according to regulations.

Notably, at around 10:30 p.m. on October 30, at Km 17+600 on Provincial Road 295, passing through Voi town, Lang Giang district, the working group of Lang Giang district police discovered a case of a motorbike driver with signs of violation.

When stopping the vehicle, the authorities discovered that both people on the motorbike were not wearing helmets. The driver of the motorbike was D.VK (born in 1996) from Huong Lac commune (Lang Giang). At the time of inspection, K. could not present a driver's license, vehicle registration, or civil liability insurance.

During the investigation, the police suspected that K. was using drugs, so they conducted a rapid test. The test results showed that K. was positive for two synthetic drugs, AMP and MET. K. admitted to the police that he had previously used drugs.

Currently, Lang Giang District Police (Bac Giang) are completing the case file to handle the case.
