On the morning of June 15, hundreds of students with a passion for remote control were present at the Cao Thang Technical College yard to watch the final round of the Mini Car Racing competition.

Mini Car Racing is a competition for model cars made by students themselves, with a maximum size of 80 x 50 x 50 cm, using a 22 - 33 cm3 gasoline engine, with the same structure and operating principle as a real car. In addition, the model car must ensure technical safety, without sharp corners that cause danger.
Model cars race on a specially designed track, with a total track length of 76m. The competing teams apply IOT, using smartphones with wifi connection to control the models remotely.
The contestant controlling the model will stand in the center area, if a member leaves the control platform it is considered a violation.
Each round will have 3 teams, running 2 laps on the course with curves, obstacles, ramps,...
Unique racing car models this year
MSc. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Faculty of Dynamic Mechanics, Cao Thang Technical College, said that this is the 8th year the school has organized the competition. This year's competition has more than 350 students from 70 teams from colleges and universities such as: University of Science and Technology, University of Technical Education, Van Lang University, Tra Vinh University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Nam Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College, Ariake School Japan...
"This year, the organizers improved the track design, steel materials, solid structure, and increased obstacles, adding more challenges compared to previous seasons. After 2 rounds of technical testing, more than 50 teams entered the preliminary round and 27 teams advanced to the final round" - Master Thanh said.
A group of 5 boys from the PCC Hunter team, Cao Thang Technical College (District 1) excellently won the championship of the Mini Car Racing 2024 homemade model car competition.
After 13 intense rounds, the First and Second prizes of the competition belonged to the PCC Hunter team, the "You have no talent" team of Cao Thang Technical College; the Creative prize belonged to the Lighting Goat team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
In addition, the team with the most creative, unique technology product in terms of features, aesthetics and economy, most similar to the actual structure, will be selected as a model to be used in teaching.
