Southeast Region: Quality Opening

The administrative unit has a new name since the beginning of 2025, but the enthusiastic support of Long Dat District (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) for the tournament remains unchanged. Mr. Le Huu Hien, Vice Chairman of Long Dat District People's Committee, affirmed: "At the request of Thanh Nien Newspaper with the approval of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Long Dat District together with Thanh Nien Newspaper coordinated to organize the Southeast regional qualifying round of TNSV THACO Cup 2025. This is one of the honors of the Long Dat District Sports Movement in general and the communes and towns in Long Dat District in particular. In the near future, we will have many more mass activities. Hopefully, Thanh Nien Newspaper will continue to accompany Long Dat District to organize more activities, creating an exciting atmosphere and the sports movement of our district will continue to grow".

Immediately after the opening ceremony, nearly 1,000 fans at Bau Thanh Stadium and fans watching online witnessed an eye-catching match between Ba Ria-Vung Tau University and Binh Duong University. The home team learned valuable lessons from the previous season, playing with a mature appearance, attacking the ball rhythmically, surprising the opponent. The 3-1 victory on the opening day was an impressive start for coach Vu Duc Thanh Chau and his team, helping the home fans confidently aim for a spot in the knockout round to compete for the only ticket to the final round in Ho Chi Minh City.

Meanwhile, Dong Nai University of Technology showed its strength with a resounding 9-1 victory over Lac Hong University, with Vu Minh Khai scoring the first hat-trick of the qualifying round of the TNSV THACO cup 2025. Despite the loss, the opportunity to continue is still open for Lac Hong University if it wins 3 points in the final match against Lilama 2 International College. Obviously, in the second season of participation, the quality of the qualifying football teams in the Southeast region has been significantly improved. At the same time, the fact that the Organizing Committee has 2 more knock-out matches for the 2 teams ranked first and second in each group also opens up opportunities for the teams to correct their mistakes. All of this promises to open up fierce and attractive competitions in the remaining 7 matches.

The Southeast region's Organizing Committee encourages the teams with separate prizes for the best player of each match, the champion team, the second place team, 2 prizes for the top scorer and the best goalkeeper (total value of 30 million VND).
