Dong Nai inaugurated the provincial Ethnic Boarding School with an investment capital of over 152 billion VND.

(DN) - On the morning of April 19, the Provincial People's Committee held an inauguration ceremony for the project to upgrade and renovate the provincial boarding school for ethnic minorities in Trung Hoa commune (Trang Bom district).

Attending the event were Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and Trang Bom district.

The Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities is one of two projects in the province that was inaugurated and started construction to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities was put into operation in 1993, on the existing facilities of the Provincial Agricultural School. In more than 30 years of operation, the school has trained 30 courses, with over 3,000 students who are children of ethnic minorities in the province. With many achievements in teaching and learning, the school was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal in 2002.

After a period of operation, in December 2021, the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities met national standards and was approved by the Provincial People's Committee to invest in construction, renovation and complete upgrading on a land area of ​​over 34,800 m2 , with a total investment of over 152 billion VND.

After the renovation, the school has spacious facilities with 15 classrooms, subject rooms, traditional rooms, kitchen, dining room, dormitory, playground, practice ground, medical room, meeting the learning needs of over 500 students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung hoped that the education and training sector would continue to pay attention to directing and guiding schools to focus on improving the quality of education. Focus on developing the team of teachers and managers, and at the same time attach importance to career education for children of ethnic minorities. The team of managers, teachers, staff and workers will constantly improve their knowledge and professional skills, and be dedicated to the cause of education and training.

Provincial leaders expressed their hope that generations of students of the school will continue to promote their positivity and proactiveness, taking advantage of their study time to accumulate knowledge, cultivate morality, improve health, and equip themselves with life skills to become good citizens.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated the Board of Directors and students of the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities for having a school with spacious, modern and synchronous facilities.

With the attention and investment of the province, along with the efforts of the education and training sector, the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities will become a bright spot in the province's education system, contributing to training young generations with high qualifications, national spirit and responsibility for their homeland and country.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung also believes that with the proper attention and investment of the province, the young generation in general and ethnic minority children in Dong Nai in particular will have better opportunities to develop their capacity and qualities, and make worthy contributions to the development of their homeland and country.
