Summary of Spacetime episode 2

In episode 2 of "Spacetime", three children were trapped on the roof of their house when the floodwaters rose. One of them swam out to pick up a pumpkin floating in the water. As a result, this boy drowned, dragging another child into danger. The older sister could only stand on the shore and shout loudly, hoping that someone would come to her rescue. Luckily, Linh (Thach Phong) passed by and saved all three children in time.

After saving people, Linh returned to his unit but was not happy. He seemed to not want to participate in this flood rescue mission. Linh confided:

"I naturally know how to swim and then have to save people from floods. I am a rational person, but when I encounter unreasonable things, how can I find the truth?"

Rescue work is still being urgently deployed. However, the increasing number of people makes arranging accommodation a problem that needs to be carefully resolved by Dai (Manh Truong) and his teammates. Dai encouraged the people to accompany the soldiers to overcome the difficulties. He emphasized that after the storm and flood pass, the soldiers will still stay to help overcome the consequences and stabilize life.

Dai contacted his father to reassure him and told him to take care of his health. While worrying about the people, Dai did not notice that his hand was also injured. Doctor Thu (Huyen Sam) discovered and came to give him first aid.

By chance, Dai's father saw Doctor Thu taking care of his son's wound very attentively. He immediately hinted at getting married, once again reminding Dai. Although he realized Thu cared about him, Dai deliberately avoided her and kept his distance.

Meanwhile, comrade Huy was assigned the task of stabilizing the lives of people avoiding the flood. However, he was still constantly worried about teacher Tam (Le Bong). When Huy shared his concerns, Linh poured cold water on him: "There are no casualties yet, but it is possible that there are, or there are but they are not reported, or there may be but they are not known."

Linh's words made Huy even more impatient.

Determined to contact Tam, Huy followed Linh's advice and borrowed a phone from a local to call her. Luckily, Linh helped Huy borrow the phone. When he learned that Tam was on her way back to the village, Huy felt somewhat reassured. However, Tam's phone suddenly lost connection, causing Huy to panic and call her back many times but forgot to return the phone, despite Linh's repeated reminders.

Dai’s work also encountered many difficulties because some people did not follow the regulations of the military unit. Dai found ways to solve the problem such as drying the people’s belongings and buying the water-soaked rice. In particular, he had to deal with the case of a lost phone of an old man who had lent Huy his phone. After discovering the incident, Dai immediately searched for the phone in the barracks area. He was extremely angry that his subordinate had caused this problem.

As for Ms. Tam, on her way back to school, she encountered many difficulties because the rain and floods made the road dangerous. Despite falling and getting her clothes dirty, Tam was determined to return to her village. Despite the advice of the motorbike taxi driver, she continued her journey, ready to walk the mountain road if necessary.

In the present, the film is inspired by the silent contributions of peacetime soldiers, who grew up in peace and were willing to sacrifice their personal happiness for the sacred word "people". The past and present stories are interwoven in the film, helping to clearly portray the portrait of soldiers in each period. At the same time, the connection between the past and the present also creates a reflection, showing the continuation of the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", "by the people, for the people".

The film not only recreates the values ​​of soldiers in war, but also honors the silent sacrifices of the generation of soldiers in peacetime, who always protect the safety and happiness of the people.
