On October 16, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province announced that Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Tran Phuoc Hien has just signed a Decision to promulgate regulations on conditions and minimum areas for land division and land consolidation for each type of land in the area.
Accordingly, from October 30, 2024, this new regulation will take effect. In particular, urban residential land cannot be divided into plots smaller than 50 square meters.
In addition, some residential land areas in rural areas are not allowed to be divided into plots smaller than 50m2. Specifically: rural land in Ly Son district; communes of Binh Chanh, Binh Thanh, Binh Dong, Binh Chau, Binh Hai, Binh Tri, Binh Thuan (Binh Son district); communes of Tinh Ky, Nghia An, Nghia Phu (Quang Ngai city) and Duc Loi commune (Mo Duc district). Because these are all coastal communes, land resources are limited, while the population is large, the population density per unit area is very high.
Land plots that cannot be divided into smaller plots of less than 70m2 include: land plots adjacent to National Highway 1; land plots adjacent to National Highway 24B in Quang Ngai city and Tinh Ha commune in Son Tinh district; land plots adjacent to National Highway 24 (new) from National Highway 1 to the border of Pho Phong commune in Duc Pho town; land plots adjacent to National Highway 24 (old) from National Highway 1 (Thach Tru intersection) to Tay Cong Hoa Chung intersection in Mo Duc district; land plots adjacent to Provincial Road 623B in Nghia Ky commune, Tu Nghia district; Nghia Dung and Nghia Dong communes in Quang Ngai city. The remaining areas must not be smaller than 100m2.

Agricultural land in Quang Ngai city and Nguyen Nghiem and Pho Thanh wards (Duc Pho town) cannot be divided into plots smaller than 200m2. The remaining communes and wards in Duc Pho town, the plain districts and towns of the mountainous districts must not be smaller than 300m2. The remaining areas must not be smaller than 500m2.
In particular, annual crop land in Ly Son district cannot be divided into plots smaller than 100m2. Perennial crop land in Ly Son district cannot be divided into plots smaller than 200m2.
Along with that, other agricultural land in Ly Son is not divided into plots under 300m2, Quang Ngai city, Duc Pho town, plain districts and towns of mountainous districts is not less than 1,000m2. The remaining areas are not less than 1,500m2.
Land for planting trees in Quang Ngai city, Duc Pho town, plain districts and towns of mountainous districts not separated under 400m2. Remaining areas: 700m2.
Quang Ngai province stipulates that aquaculture land and salt production land in Quang Ngai province cannot be divided into smaller plots of less than 300m2. Concentrated livestock land in Quang Ngai city, Duc Pho town, Ly Son district, and delta districts cannot be divided into plots of less than 1,500m2. Remaining areas: 2,000m2.
For production forest land, Quang Ngai city, Duc Pho town, Ly Son district, and plain districts cannot be separated under 1,000m2. The remaining areas must not be less than 2,000m2.
