Specifically, according to Phu Tho Provincial Police, on April 14, because it was a weekend, the number of tourists from all over the country flocking to Hung Temple increased dramatically. The scene of thousands of people gathering to go to the temples was posted by some social networking sites, edited and "sensationalized" with the aim of "attracting views" as "Hung Temple fell".
In addition, many social networking sites also edited and used images of the police rescuing two people who fainted while going to the Upper Temple on March 5 (Lunar calendar) to combine with today's crowded images, thereby "distorting" that the crowding led to many people fainting.
However, in reality, the crowded scene in the courtyard of the public temple is due to the police force implementing a "soft fence" plan to divide the flow, proactively regulating each wave of visitors to the temple, avoiding local congestion, leading to overload on the roads to the Lower Temple, Middle Temple and Upper Temple. Thanks to this creative solution, the temples always maintain a sufficient number of pilgrims, avoiding congestion, jostling, affecting the health of visitors when making pilgrimages and the situation of losing security and order in narrow spaces.
Through this, Phu Tho Provincial Police hope that people need to filter information, understand the issue correctly to feel secure when making a pilgrimage to the Ancestral Land, both to fulfill their wish to offer incense in gratitude to the Hung Kings and to participate in fun activities at the festival.
