On April 15, the central exchange rate was listed by the State Bank at 24,891 VND/USD, an increase of 5 VND/USD compared to yesterday.
The selling price of USD at the State Foreign Exchange Reserve Management Department, State Bank of Vietnam exceeded 26,080 VND/USD.
The USD price at commercial banks also exceeded 26,000 VND/USD this morning.
Specifically, Vietcombank and BIDV simultaneously listed the USD buying price at 25,650 VND and the selling price at 26,010 VND, up 10 VND/USD compared to the end of yesterday. Over the past week, the USD price has increased by nearly 200 VND.
The domestic USD price increased in the context of the USD index in the international market not stopping its decline. The USD index (DXY) in the international market is currently trading at 99.6 points, the lowest level since the end of 2023.
However, not only has the USD increased in value compared to the VND in Vietnam, the Euro and the Japanese Yen have also increased strongly in recent times.

Currently, commercial banks list the EUR (Euro) buying price at 28,909 VND, selling price at 30,189 VND/EUR. This is the highest level of this foreign currency in many years. The EUR price has increased rapidly over the past 2 months compared to VND. In early February 2025, one EUR was exchanged for about 27,000 VND, but now it has exceeded 30,000 VND, an increase of about 11%.
Similarly, the Japanese Yen has also been on a strong rise recently. Since the beginning of April, the Japanese Yen has increased by about 5.5%. Currently, the JPY/VND exchange rate is 176.22 VND/JPY for buying and 185.54 VND/JPY for selling.
On some European travel forums, many people said they were quite surprised to see the EUR increase sharply recently. When the EUR price increases, Vietnamese tourists traveling to European destinations will have to spend more on shopping and spending. Similarly, the cost of studying abroad in European countries is also higher when converted according to the exchange rate between VND and EUR.
Enterprises exporting to Europe will benefit from the increase in exchange rate, but on the contrary, if they import raw materials from this market, input costs will also be higher.
