No need to reduce prices to stimulate tourism

In 2025, the Vietnam International Travel Mart in Hanoi - VITM Hanoi will have the participation of 60 domestic and foreign tourism promotion agencies, 8 airlines, 16 countries and territories, and more than 600 businesses. This is also one of the major activities contributing to stimulating tourism demand. However, the Organizing Committee does not focus on price reduction.

Specifically, speaking at a press conference on March 25 to announce the organization of VITM Hanoi 2025, Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that VITM Hanoi 2025 with the theme "Developing green destinations, raising the level of Vietnamese tourism" continues to pursue the goal of developing green and sustainable tourism. According to Mr. Binh, developing green tourism is a common trend in the world. After the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism trends have changed a lot, requiring the tourism industry to change. Travelers are more concerned about the quality of products, services, and safety.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association also said that in the current context of increasing prices for everything, reducing prices to stimulate tourism is no longer appropriate. If price reduction leads to a decrease in service quality, tourism will easily lose customers. Instead of reducing prices to stimulate tourism, the tourism industry should stimulate demand with new products and new services with higher quality, more attractive to tourists. This is also the viewpoint of the Organizing Committee of VITM Hanoi when implementing this year's fair.

Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy also said that currently, with a more open visa policy, international tourism is facing many favorable conditions. However, to achieve the set target for 2025, the tourism industry will still face many difficulties. Mr. Thuy also expressed his hope that VITM Hanoi 2025 will actively contribute to promoting the tourism industry to achieve the target of welcoming 23 million international visitors in 2025.

VITM Hanoi 2025 will take place from April 10-13 at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center ICE (Friendship Cultural Palace, Hanoi). With the theme "Developing green destinations, raising the level of Vietnam Tourism", the fair aims to spread the goal of developing Vietnam tourism towards green and sustainable growth. On this occasion, visitors will have many interesting experiences with many promotional programs on tours, air tickets, hotel rooms, local OCOP products and many attractive destinations across the country. At the fair, there will be many meetings between businesses and businesses (B2B); businesses and consumers (B2C); Vietnamese and international tourism promotion agencies will organize many tourism promotion activities, introduce tourism products, destinations, tourism stimulus packages, new technologies and tourism trends; promote tourism programs and events of localities, businesses, domestic and international destinations... Currently, VITM's system has recorded nearly 1,300 appointments at the fair.

Notably, at VITM this year, there will be an area introducing some successes of the digital transformation program, including typical applications of Robot's artificial intelligence (AI) in the fields of travel, hotels and tourism services. At the fair, there will be a forum on "Developing new destinations, raising the level of Vietnamese tourism", special art performances, imbued with traditional cultural elements by art troupes from home and abroad...
