Da Nang announces housing designs for temporary housing program

According to the Department of Construction, the City People's Committee aims to complete the elimination of 2,043 temporary and dilapidated houses before September 2, 2025. In the spirit of "6 clear" according to the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh: clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear objects, clear time and clear results.

To date, Da Nang city has completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 1,098 households, reaching 53.7%. Specifically, 587/975 houses for meritorious people; 443/775 houses for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; 68/293 houses for other households.

The Department of Construction has researched and proposed specific criteria for determining temporary and dilapidated houses in Da Nang city in a direction that is higher than the central standard but still suitable for the actual living conditions of the city and each locality. On March 24, 2025, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 957/QD-UBND on Guiding criteria for temporary and dilapidated houses, in which, in addition to the subjects identified in Decision 55/QD-BXD dated January 20, 2025 of the Ministry of Construction, Da Nang city has proposed to expand the subjects of support according to other criteria.

Specifically: “Housing does not ensure minimum living conditions due to lack or degraded functional space, not meeting usage requirements, including kitchen, toilet, common living area. Housing is located in an area without or with urban technical infrastructure that does not meet the needs of electricity and water supply. Housing is located in an area affected by natural disasters, fire safety”.

Regarding typical housing models to support people with revolutionary contributions, poor and near-poor households to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Da Nang city, the Department of Construction has coordinated with the Institute of Construction Planning and the Construction Engineering Consulting Center to prepare design documents with estimates for 7 house models, submitted to the Da Nang City Architecture Advisory Council.

On March 26, 2025, the City People's Committee had a unified policy for the above-mentioned house models, and at the same time assigned the People's Committees of communes and wards to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the area, on the basis of the house models provided by the Department of Construction, to deploy to poor households, near-poor households, and people with revolutionary contributions for reference, selection, and research and application of construction suitable to the specific circumstances of each household.

Rural housing model for households (area ^60m2 ) designed by Danang Construction Technical Consulting Center, investment level 275 million VND/house.

Model house for single people in mountainous area (area ^35.7m2 ) designed by Danang Construction Technical Consulting Center, investment level 178 million VND/house.
