The General Education Program 2018 to the 2024-2025 school year is a full cycle. The positive aspects are mixed with limitations, advantages go hand in hand with difficulties due to an unrealistic view because it is still subjective. For example, the integrated subject in junior high school seems to be new only in name, while... physics, chemistry, biology (history, geography) are up to each teacher to "handle"!

At high school level, due to compulsory and elective subjects, there is a shortage of teachers for some subjects such as history and many schools have a surplus of physics, chemistry, and biology teachers.

How will the introduction of technology and information technology as a subject in the high school graduation exam be carried out? How will the high school graduation exam scores be calculated with the expected 50% of the 3-year high school transcript score?...

In recent days, public opinion has been heated up about banning or basically banning students from using cell phones in class. How can school fees be made public, transparent, and create consensus among parents and students inside and outside the education sector?

Hereby, I would like to propose to the Ministry of Education and Training "2 no's" for the 2024-2025 school year.

Remove the parent-teacher association in class.

Accordingly, only the school-level parent representative board is retained. According to the class unit, the homeroom teacher creates a Zalo or Facebook group to quickly communicate between teachers and parents, and between parents and parents. From school and class regulations, fees, to the learning and training results of children in class, teachers fully inform parents.

Most issues related to teaching and education are promptly communicated by the school through this connection. Conversely, if parents need to report to teachers and the school, they can completely "click" through these connection groups and in a flash, teachers will know.

At the beginning of the year, end of the first semester, and end of the school year, the homeroom teacher invites parents to a general meeting or a private meeting. Mobilizing contributions is the school's policy. If we are good at mobilizing the public, parents will highly support it; otherwise, parents will oppose it. The responsibility lies with the school principal and homeroom teacher.

This reality shows that the class parent committee is no longer necessary. Abolishing the class parent committee will save meeting time, promote parent-school interaction through technology, encourage them to share their opinions frankly, and add measures to eliminate the problem of overcharging schools. The school-level parent committee coordinates with the school to organize educational activities, reflect on outstanding issues, and share with teachers and students when necessary in accordance with regulations.

Without a class parent representative board, teachers are also under less negative pressure when parents, for some reason, have conflicts with teachers and then use the name of "class association"...

Students are prohibited from using cell phones in class.

A lesson lasts 45 minutes, teachers teach according to the lesson plan, with supplementary teaching aids to complete the plan. Students, through activities, learn, understand, and apply the knowledge imparted. In that process, to meet the purpose and requirements, students must prepare well at home, be active in class, pay attention to what the teacher says, cooperate with friends, use textbooks, reference materials... In both theory and practice, students do not need cell phones in class.

The regulation that students are allowed to use cell phones while studying when teachers allow it is both difficult for teachers and "formalistic". Each time, each task, going to class is to learn from teachers, from textbooks, materials; to connect with friends, to acquire knowledge. Students can use cell phones outside of class, outside of school to find more exercises, exchange lesson information, share methods, study more, entertain, confide in parents, teachers, siblings, close people for a certain period of time.

Many national excellent students, international award winners, when talking about learning methods, do not mention using mobile phones in class as a learning tool.

There is a rule that cell phones are not allowed in class without the teacher’s permission. How can teachers check everything? It might cause conflicts between teachers and students. Some people think that teachers monitor the class to control students. That is just a theoretical way of speaking.

Banning students from using cell phones in class is an immediate action. Let the classroom be a place where give and take happens through real people, real actions, and direct interactions.

If teachers want students to seriously implement the no cell phones in class policy, they need to set an example and absolutely not use cell phones during class or during school-wide group activities.

Teaching without cell phones in class is one of the best ways to build happy schools.

In the 2024-2025 school year, for high school students, in addition to the measures implemented in previous school years, we would like to propose 9 additional professional work orientations.

1. Help Grade 10 students get acquainted with the test according to the format of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

2. Gradually modernize teaching equipment, English teachers self-study - read - filter, set out a reasonable roadmap to make English the second language in schools.

3. Quickly, firmly and effectively apply the Ministry of Education and Training's guidance "avoid using texts and excerpts learned in textbooks as test materials to assess reading comprehension and writing skills in periodic tests" for literature.

4. Improve professional group activities. Improve the quality of professional activities according to lesson research, focusing on professional capacity, digital skills, dedication and responsibility of teachers.

5. Improve career guidance experience activities, linked to professional work.

6. Strengthen education for students on proper attitudes when participating in social networks.

7. A comprehensive, strong, feasible plan is needed, with strong coordination between teachers - students - parents, leadership of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the quickness, sensitivity, and skill of the principal.

8. If we want every day at school to be a happy day, students must be safe. We need to promote the role of the Youth Union, homeroom teachers, school psychological counseling teams, and school health workers.

9. Multiply and cultivate in students the desire to start a business, noble ambitions, and the ideal of serving the Fatherland and the people. This is the most essential luggage for students to confidently go to school and be strong on the worldly path later.
