On the evening of November 4, informing Dan Tri reporter, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, said that the Security Investigation Agency has prosecuted and temporarily detained 5 suspects for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties".
The defendants include: Tran Quoc Hung (born in 1976), Deputy Head of Licensing and Public Relations Department, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade;
Trinh Van Doan (born in 1982), Specialist of Licensing and Public Relations Department, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade;
Nguyen Huu Khai (born in 1977), Head of Electricity Trading Department, Electricity Trading Company, Vietnam Electricity Group;
Do Ngoc Tuyen (born in 1988), Specialist of Electricity Purchase Department, Electricity Purchase Company, Vietnam Electricity Group;
Truong Hoang Dung (born in 1982), Specialist of Technical and Information Technology Department, Electricity Trading Company, Vietnam Electricity Group.

The above defendants were identified as being involved in the case of Abusing position and power while performing official duties, which occurred at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and provinces and cities.
After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved, the Ministry of Public Security served the decisions to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residences and workplaces of the above 5 defendants.
