Launching the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival

On the evening of February 27, the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Rising Vietnam" organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, chaired by the Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, in coordination with departments, branches, districts, and Thu Duc City officially launched.

This year's festival takes place over 8 days, from March 1 to 9, with a series of 10 diverse activities at more than 20 locations: President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street, Lam Son Park in front of the City Theater, Export Showroom from 92 - 96 Nguyen Hue (District 1)... and at historical sites, cultural sites, tourist destinations, and constructions of Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the festival is also a meaningful event towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). "Hopefully, with the cooperation of units, designers, artists, people, tourists... will create a brilliant and memorable festival season," Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said.

This year's Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival has more than 30 guest image ambassadors who are famous people working in many fields such as politics, economics, beauty queens, beauties, singers and actors, such as: People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Trinh Thi Thanh - Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union; Mr. Nguyen Van Canh - Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society; People's Artist Bach Tuyet; People's Artist Kim Xuan; Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu; Tang Phuc; Miss Ha Kieu Anh; Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien; Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc; Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy; King Pham Tuan Ngoc; Miss Tran Tieu Vy; Miss Doan Thien An; Miss Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau...

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will take place on the evening of March 7, at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

The Ao Dai folk dance performance took place on the morning of March 8 at Nguyen Hue walking street, with 3,000 performers and more than 50,000 people at destinations in 21 districts, Thu Duc City. In the evening of the same day, the VBFF Ao Dai performance art program took place at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue walking street. Director Hoang Nhat Nam said the collections were arranged into a story of 3 chapters, including a chapter called Ao Dai and the Fire-and-Flame Roads, recalling the heroic memories of the nation during the war.

This year’s Ao Dai Charming Contest in Ho Chi Minh City is only for groups. The semi-finals will take place on March 2 and 3. The finals are scheduled to take place on the evening of March 9 at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Walking Street. The Ao Dai Painting Contest will take place from March 1 to 9 and is for students.

In addition, the Ao Dai Exhibition and Interaction Space will be held throughout 8 days at Nguyen Hue walking street, Lam Son Park, City Theater Metro Station stop... The exhibition space will be divided into many areas with rich themes and activities. In particular, the new tourist route "Colors of Ao Dai Festival on the Metro journey" is a new tourist experience connecting Metro line 1 with the cultural and artistic space of Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival.
