Arouse the spirit of dedication and service to the country

According to the Head of the Central Propaganda Department, the movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example has aroused the spirit of dedication and service to the country in all social classes.

On the morning of June 12, the Central Propaganda Department held a national conference to assess the implementation of promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle according to Conclusion No. 01/2021 of the 13th Politburo.

According to the report, by April, there were 25,500 models nationwide studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. Provincial and municipal Party Committees launched extensive activities with many topics such as "self-reflection, self-correction"; "honor is the most sacred and noble thing". From these movements, many influential examples have emerged, arousing motivation, patriotism and the desire to contribute in all social classes.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia commented that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's example in recent times clearly demonstrated the spirit of serving the Fatherland and the people, associated with building the Party, the political system, and the spirit of great national unity. Studying and following have gradually become self-awareness of each person, thereby contributing to adjusting the behaviors of Party members, cadres and society.

Regarding studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the coming time, Mr. Nghia noted that units should closely combine the Party's regulations on setting examples and things that Party members must not do; promote the role and responsibility of setting examples of cadres and Party members, especially leaders; clearly affirm the leadership role, pioneering and exemplary nature of cadres and Party members.

"Every cadre and party member, especially the leaders of Party committees and authorities, needs to set an example, be proactive and voluntarily adjust their behavior, and consider this a regular, daily task," he said.

In 2016, the 13th Politburo issued Directive 05 on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; requiring a strong change in awareness and action within the Party, the political system and the people, making "studying and following Uncle Ho a voluntary and regular task". The Directive identifies this as an important content of the Party building and rectification work, contributing to building a clean and strong Party.

Conclusion 01/2021 of the 13th Politburo then determined that in order to effectively and practically implement Directive 05, all levels need to focus on doing well three contents: Studying and following Uncle Ho and cadres and party members must set an example.
