Inauguration of Khai Tien Phat Waste Treatment and Recycling Complex

Delegates cut the ribbon to officially put the Khai Tien Phat Waste Treatment and Recycling Complex into operation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Director of Khai Tien Phat Environmental Treatment Service Trading Company Limited, said that, overcoming many difficulties and challenges in the field of environmental treatment, over the past 15 years, with perseverance and tireless efforts, Khai Tien Phat Company Limited has left many important marks in the field of environmental protection. Up to today, the aspiration of building the most modern waste treatment plant in the country has been realized with the establishment and operation of the Khai Tien Phat Waste Treatment & Recycling Complex project.

The Khai Tien Phat Waste Recycling Complex Project was approved to meet national standards in 2019 at the Standing Committee meeting of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province with an area of 100 hectares.

Phase 1 of the project with an area of 50 hectares has been approved by the Binh Phuoc Provincial Economic Zone Management Board with Investment Policy Decision No. 81/QD-BQL dated December 7, 2020; the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee has approved the detailed planning project 1/500 in Decision 415/QD/UBND dated February 9, 2021.

The Khai Tien Phat Waste Treatment and Recycling Complex Project has been appraised by the Appraisal Council including leading scientists, professors and doctors in the field of waste treatment in Vietnam for technology and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment has approved the environmental impact assessment report for the project in Decision No. 1810/QD-BTNMT dated September 22, 2021.

After receiving the decision of the Ministry of Construction's appraisal council issued on April 10, 2022, the Company officially sought a qualified contractor to construct the Waste Treatment and Recycling Complex located at Hoa Lu Border Gate Economic Zone, Loc Thach Commune, Loc Ninh District, Binh Phuoc Province. After more than 18 months of construction, and investment in equipment, techniques and technology, in September 2023, the project was appraised by the National Appraisal Council and granted an Environmental License by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in September 2023.

According to the Company representative, Khai Tien Phat Waste Treatment & Recycling Complex was completed and put into operation in phase 1 with a capacity of 1,458.91 tons/day, including 16 waste recycling and treatment projects with advanced and modern technology invested, meeting the necessary needs and encouragement of waste treatment and recycling according to the circular economy orientation of the Party and State.

Currently, waste is brought to the factory by specialized garbage trucks equipped with GPS, the waste is classified and brought to each workshop for treatment according to the required level such as solid waste, plastic waste, other biological waste... In which, some types of waste will be treated and recycled, creating raw materials for other industries such as iron and steel, plastic. Ash and slag will be mixed with sand and stone as solidified raw materials for the production of unburnt bricks. For industrial sludge, the factory has technology to compost recycled sludge as raw materials for the production of compost and microbial fertilizers for agriculture. In addition, Khai Tien Phat also invested in 4 safe waste landfills with underground water and leachate suction systems and equipped with 04 monitoring wells according to the regulations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

In particular, with investment in advanced technological equipment, Khai Tien Phat is a leading unit in the field of processing and recycling of non-ferrous metal waste, helping to reuse this valuable resource. The company is also the first unit licensed to process waste from solar panels. The company also invests in two plastic granule recycling technologies with raw materials imported from countries around the world.

To ensure the treatment of industrial waste and hazardous waste, the Company has invested in a system for treating wastewater, exhaust gas and solid waste to ensure compliance with current standards before reusing or discharging into receiving sources, and implementing technical management measures to prevent and respond to environmental incidents during the collection, transportation and recycling of waste.

After opening, Khai Tien Phat Waste Treatment & Recycling Complex will begin testing waste treatment facilities and monitoring waste sources according to the approved Testing Operation Plan in the Environmental License granted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

With the motto of implementing activities to ensure environmental regulations, in the coming time, the Company will continue to allocate human and material resources to build the Factory into a key project on waste treatment and recycling with advanced and modern technology in the Southern region, towards a green economy and circular economy./.
