Exploiting and promoting tourism potential effectively

As a province located in the East of Vietnam, Quang Ninh is considered one of the localities with the most outstanding and unique tourism resources in the country, both in terms of natural and cultural tourism resources. In particular, the potential for summer tourism with the advantage of sea and islands is considered outstanding.

For a long time, Quang Ninh has been known as a place with many famous scenic spots, especially loved by domestic and international tourists such as: Bai Tu Long Bay, Co To Island, Minh Chau - Quan Lan Island Cluster, Ngoc Vung, Tra Co Beach, Cai Chien Island... In particular, Ha Long Bay - a natural wonder of the world recognized by UNESCO with special values in geology, geomorphology and landscape has become one of the extremely attractive destinations not only for Quang Ninh province but also for the whole country in general. These are valuable resources, which have been planned, evaluated and oriented to exploit and develop resort and beach tourism.

Regarding the resources of mountain landscape, forest, ecosystem, the mountainous landscape of Quang Ninh is created by nature with many beautiful and majestic landscapes with overlapping forests and mountains creating a unique scene for the Northeast Coast region. Some areas have beautiful landscapes, which are valuable resources for the development of eco-tourism, mountain resorts, sports, camping such as: Yen Tu Mountain (Uong Bi), Cao Ly Mountain, Cao Xiem Mountain, "Dinosaur's spine", border patrol road landscape (Binh Lieu) ...

Quang Ninh has a unique natural ecosystem, which is valuable for tourism because of its high biodiversity, preserving many genetic resources and rare species typical of the tropics, including many endemic species in national parks and nature reserves such as Bai Tu Long National Park, Co To - Tran Island Marine Reserve, Yen Tu Special-Use Forest, Dong Son - Ky Thuong Nature Reserve, etc. These resource values are favorable for exploiting and developing various types of ecotourism, diving tourism; adventure tourism; community tourism, research tourism, and experiencing pristine nature.

The potential diversity of Quang Ninh tourism also includes river, stream, lake, and waterfall resources including a unique system of rivers, streams, hot mineral springs, and waterfalls, with great potential for developing eco-tourism, picnics, camping, and activities such as trekking through forests, conquering waterfalls, and bathing in waterfalls... Typical resource points include: Ba Che River (Ba Che), Yen Trung Lake, Lung Xanh Waterfall, Khe Song - Bac Waterfall (Uong Bi), Khe Che Lake (Dong Trieu), Truc Bai Son Lake (Hai Ha), Quang Hanh hot mineral spring (Cam Pha), Mo Waterfall (Quang Yen); Khe Van Waterfall - Song Mooc Waterfall (Binh Lieu), Pac Sui Waterfall (Tien Yen)...

The advantages of tourism resources, together with other resource factors such as geographical location, politics, economy, strategy, invested and developed transport infrastructure, tourism service infrastructure have contributed to the remarkable achievements of Quang Ninh tourism industry in recent years.

An advantage that cannot be ignored is that many of Quang Ninh's landscapes and landscapes have the presence of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, making it very convenient to exploit and promote the "dual" potential. Typical examples include Yen Tu landscape with the Truc Lam Zen sect of King Tran Nhan Tong; Ngoc Vung island with the memorial site of Uncle Ho, the anti-aircraft artillery site during the anti-American war; Quan Lan island with the cluster of communal houses, pagodas, temples, and shrines associated with the feats of Tran Khanh Du during the Tran Dynasty; Tra Co beach with Tra Co communal house; Ba Che river with the cluster of Ong temple - Ba temple, the Dao ethnic cultural conservation house; Co To island with the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, the lighthouse, the relic of the battle of Don Cao in 1945, etc.

With the potential of ethnic culture, culinary culture, combined with beautiful landscapes, Quang Ninh has many advantages to exploit and develop various types of tourism, contributing to increasing the attractiveness of tourism in the province.
