(Chinhphu.vn) - On April 9, at the Hung Temple historical relic site, the Organizing Committee of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary 2024 opened the Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of Giap Thin 2024.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Ho Dai Dung emphasized: The series of events in the Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of Giap Thin 2024 aims to honor the tradition of patriotism, arouse the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the strength of national solidarity towards the origin, gratitude to ancestors; at the same time, preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage associated with tourism development in the homeland of the Ancestral Land. The Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in 2024 will take place from April 9 to 18 (ie March 1 to 10 of the Lunar calendar), at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site (Viet Tri city) and districts, towns and cities in Phu Tho province. In particular, the ceremony includes: The Commemoration Ceremony of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and Incense Offering to commemorate the Ancestral Mother Au Co on April 14 (March 6 of the Lunar calendar); Incense offering ceremony for the Hung Kings' death anniversary on April 18 (March 10 of the lunar calendar); Incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings of localities in the province from April 9 to 18 (March 1 to 10 of the lunar calendar). The Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land has many activities such as: Displaying artifacts, heritage documents, books, newspapers, and photo documents at Phu Tho Provincial Library (Viet Tri city), Hung Vuong Museum (Hung Temple historical relic site); Street music program "Viet Tri Livemusic" at Van Lang Park, Viet Tri city; Cultural camp and display of typical products... In addition, many activities are organized to serve tourists and people nationwide when making pilgrimages to the Ancestral Land such as: Xoan singing performance of ancient villages; Volleyball tournament of strong teams competing for the Hung Vuong Cup; Trade fair and display of OCOP products; Open rowing competition at Van Lang Park lake; Competitions in wrapping and cooking banh chung, pounding banh giay... Especially the art program and high-altitude fireworks display at Van Lang Park Lake taking place on the evening of April 17 (March 9 of the lunar calendar)...
