Vietnamese tourists 'change the wind' with cruise tours

Cruise tourism, which is familiar to European and American tourists, is gradually becoming a trend with Vietnamese people, especially during long holidays like Lunar New Year, thanks to the combination of relaxation and exploring new destinations.

According to a representative of Saigontourist Travel, not only does the company welcome international groups of tourists to Vietnam on international cruises, but this year's Tet holiday, the company also sells tours to Vietnamese people with destinations such as Singapore - Penang - Phuket.

On the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025, the company is fully booked with 2 package cruises Singapore - Penang (Malaysia) - Phuket (Thailand) 6 days, departing on the 2nd day of Tet, and Singapore - Penang (Malaysia) 4 days, departing from the 28th of Tet, the tour has a tour guide.

"To meet the increasing demand, we will open more cabins during Tet and maintain regular departures throughout 2025. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese tourists to access this modern, luxurious and exciting form of tourism," the airline representative added.

According to travel companies, the Tet business plan is now almost 90% complete, with tour prices this year increasing by 10-20% due to increased transportation costs and related services.

In addition to package tours, travel agencies are also promoting combos of air tickets and hotels for self-sufficient customers, as well as accompanying services for individuals and small groups such as airport pick-up and drop-off or private tour guides.

According to Saigontourist Travel, in the first days of the new year 2025, the company welcomed 5 international cruise ships to Vietnam, serving a total of 19,800 tourists from many countries such as the US, Canada, UK and Australia.

Tourists were able to visit and experience interesting culture and nature in localities such as the coastal city of Vung Tau, the Mekong Delta (My Tho) or explore Ho Chi Minh City, visit famous landmarks in the ancient capital such as the Imperial Citadel and mausoleums, pagodas, learn about Hue garden house culture, visit the ancient village of Thuy Bieu and Central cuisine...
