What's new in 10th grade admission in 2025 in Nghe An?

On April 11, Nghe An Departmentof Education and Training issued guidelines for admission to grade 10 of high school for the 2025-2026 school year with many important contents.

Accordingly, this year's exam will be conducted according to the entrance exam and selection method.

Entrance exam for schools with the number of students registering for their first choice exceeding the enrollment quota for the 2025-2026 school year; admission consideration for the remaining schools.

Particularly for schools under the project "Piloting the construction of advanced kindergartens and general schools following the international integration trend in Nghe An province, period 2021-2030", admission is based on the selection method for classes implementing advanced models, and entrance exams for the remaining classes.

In this exam, each candidate can register up to 3 wishes. Of which, wish 1 is to enter a high school (public, non-public) or a continuing education center or a vocational education - continuing education center.

Choices 2 and 3 for high schools (public, non-public), continuing education centers, vocational education centers - continuing education centers enroll choice 2 and 3.

In addition to the 3 above wishes, candidates wishing to register for classes implementing advanced school models following the international integration trend will be considered for admission based on: secondary school training and study results; results of international English and IT proficiency certificates; results of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

This year, Nghe An Department of Education and Training continues to allow candidates to change their wishes after finishing the exam if they wish.

Candidates applying to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted are not allowed to change their wishes.

Deadline for submitting application for change of wish is 5:00 p.m. on June 6.

Nghe An Department of Education and Training also noted that changing wishes only applies to candidates who participate in the entrance exam.

During the implementation process, the admissions committee of the schools needs to remind students and parents to consider before accepting applications to change their wishes.

The reason is that in the 10th grade entrance exam in previous years, due to haste and anxiety, many parents and students massively changed their wishes, leading to a situation where many top schools lacked candidates.

Meanwhile, the lower-ranking schools are overloaded, causing disadvantages for many candidates and disrupting the admission process at many schools.

This year, students register online on the VNEDU system at the link: http://nghean.tsdc.vnedu.vn.

Registration period from May 7 to 13.

This year’s 10th grade entrance exam will be held on June 3 and 4 with three subjects: literature, math and foreign language (English - French). This is the first exam to be implemented under the 2018 General Education Program.

Along with specialized subjects, the results of the 10th grade entrance exam are also used to get admission points to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
