Ho Chi Minh City launches information portal for managing extra teaching and learning

On April 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training launched a portal for managing tutoring. The portal is intended for tutoring centers, schools, parents, and students.

The tutoring center will organize the registration, monitoring and management of tutoring activities according to regulations. The school will monitor and manage information of teachers and students who register for tutoring in the school.

Parents of students will follow information and register for online tutoring through this portal. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training is responsible for managing all administrative accounts of the Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of wards, communes, towns, high schools, and tutoring facilities.

At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training must provide an overview of data and tutoring activities across the city through statistics and visual charts.

With this portal, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training plans to compile statistics on violations of regulations on extra teaching and learning for each case of teacher and extra teaching and learning center.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also strives to manage the amount of basic information of teachers, teaching centers, and teaching forms for each unit.

Putting tutoring into practice

On December 30, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular No. 29 regulating extra teaching and learning.

This Circular takes effect on February 14, 2025, including 3 cases where extra teaching and learning are not allowed: no extra teaching for primary school students; teachers in schools are not allowed to give extra teaching to students who are being taught in class for money; public teachers are not allowed to participate in managing extra teaching outside of school.

Thus, less than two months since Circular No. 29 regulating extra teaching and learning took effect from February 14, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training launched the portal for managing extra teaching and learning.
