On May 17, the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District (Da Nang City) announced that it had issued a decision to administratively fine Sea Sand Hotel 1 (An Thuong 3 Street, My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District) 20 million VND for violating "not ensuring the legal rights and interests under the contract signed with tourists" according to the law.
Room 801 was dirty and not cleaned when it was handed over to Ms. Dung.
Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, tourist Tran Thi Thuy Dung (residing in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) stayed in room 601 of Sea Sand Hotel 1 from April 5 to 22, then checked out to go to Hue. The tourist planned to return to Da Nang city, so she booked a room from May 1 to 13 and paid 100% of the room fee of nearly 4.4 million VND.
However, on May 1, when this tourist returned, the hotel informed that room 601 was occupied by someone else, so the guest was asked to choose another room. Ms. Dung looked at 2 rooms but found them dirty, so she was temporarily assigned room 801 while waiting to change to room 601.
According to Ms. Dung, room 801 is still dirty, the bed is not cleaned, the floor and sofa area have mouse droppings.
Ms. Dung paid the full room fee of nearly 4 million VND but did not receive room 601 when she returned to the hotel.
The inspection team of Ngu Hanh Son District worked with the hotel owner and confirmed that Sea Sand Hotel 1 did not guarantee the legal rights and interests according to the signed contract, violated the regulations on minimum conditions for facilities and accommodation services, and did not change bed sheets, pillows, and blankets when there were new guests.
Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee added that the representative of this hotel in the Da Nang beach area also contacted the tourists to apologize.
