International visitors staying in Dak Lak increased sharply during the April 30 and May 1 holidays

Specifically, the province welcomed 123,500 domestic visitors and more than 1,500 international visitors, a total increase of more than 8% compared to the same period last year. Of which, there were about 57,500 overnight visitors, an increase of nearly 11%; the number of foreign visitors increased fourfold.

The average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments reached about 75%. At some hotels in the central area of ​​Buon Ma Thuot city and homestays along rivers and streams, room occupancy rate reached over 90%. Total tourism revenue in Dak Lak during this time reached 62.5 billion VND.

Types of eco-tourism, resorts, experiential tourism, community tourism, and agricultural tourism in Dak Lak attract many tourists.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak, the province has many potentials and advantages to develop various types of tourism such as eco-tourism, resort tourism, experiential tourism, community tourism, and agricultural tourism. Because this holiday falls right at the peak of the dry season and the weather has been hot in recent days, these types of tourism are the top choice of many tourists.

Along with that, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, many cultural and sports events took place in the province, such as: national boxing tournament for strong teams, national Phu Dong Sports Festival, mobile propaganda contest to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh trail, Dak Lak Marathon 2024, art program "Outstanding children of the great forest". Tourist areas and spots throughout the province also proactively organized fun and entertainment activities to serve tourists.

Many cultural and sports activities took place in Dak Lak during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu added that the second and third quarters are the peak tourist seasons for domestic visitors, so during this time the province continues to organize many activities to promote, introduce and advertise tourism to provinces and cities across the country, thereby stimulating demand and promoting tourism in the province to develop better.

“After the ceremony, the Department will continue to organize activities to bring the gong culture and Khat Vong Dam San opera of Dak Lak and the Central Highlands to the Ho Chi Minh City market and the Southern market so that people and tourists can learn more about the Central Highlands culture. We hope that through the process of building tourism activities, tourists will come to the Central Highlands and Dak Lak,” said Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu.
