(NADS) - On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2023) and the 34th anniversary of "National Defense Day" (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2023), Photography and Life Magazine would like to introduce some outstanding works depicting the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era through the lens of photographer Tran Duy Tinh.
Photographer Tran Duy Tinh (pen name Tran Tinh, contributor to Military Zone 7 Newspaper), was born and raised in Nam Dinh province, currently living in Binh Duong province.
In 1990, he followed his uncle (journalist Tran Thang, war photographer, former Head of the Soldier Photography Club) to the South to study photography; during his studies, his uncle allowed him to create compositions about soldiers, from which he began to create photographs about soldiers across the country.
Through the lens of NSNA Tran Tinh, the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers is not only majestic and disciplined but also simple and close in the eyes of everyone.
"The patriotism of the soldier through enthusiasm in studying, training, not afraid of hardships to protect the Fatherland, that makes me admire and love the portrait of the soldier today!" - NSNA Tran Tinh confided.
That love for "Uncle Ho's soldiers" has helped NSNA Tran Tinh succeed in many photo contests: In 2018, he won the Gold Medal in the contest organized by the Central Propaganda Department with the work "Protecting sovereignty over seas and islands"; Silver Medal, National Photography Festival with the work "House protecting the sea"; in 2019, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of National Defense for the work "Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia friendship"; along with many certificates of merit from the General Department of Politics, the Military Region 7 Command and the Political Department of the Military Region with his works about the Military Region 7's armed forces in training, work, and combat readiness.
